Hitting .500 at this time. Play Sheets at every opportunity though by all means.

After today's game Colas has the 2nd most PA ,16, on the Sox along with TA and Eloy.  Burger has 18. Sheets has 12.

If he’s the guy I found while researching, he’s not left handed.

I don't know, but I'm willing to take the blame off the Sox on their arbitration approach to Giolito. Maybe. It may be petty. But it's fair, and to the victor goes the narrative

The problem here is "winning" still equals losing.

It means that if Giolito continues to fall off with his stuff...they've saved themselves a bad extension.

Otoh, it means getting Cease and Kopech would be almost impossible.

Not sure if a separate thread for Sox in the WBC makes sense yet, so I'll stick this here for now:

His line through two exhibition games is 4-4 with two walks, a double, and that HR. Really think the WBC experience will be good for him.

Lets hope he gets it off the shoulder.

Are the Clevinger threads locked for a reason?

Yeah - I locked them - news is out - no suspension. Don't need a bunch of back and forth on that. Clevinger's focus should be all on baseball now.

And I will be removing any continued discussion of it here - it is over. Thread was closed - you want to talk about Clevinger - focus should be on baseball (and that goes both ways).  Period.

They were playing a local Taiwanese team Taichung.

Early May? Mid May? Very end of May where a 60-day IL stint makes sense?

Believe they've said late April - early May.  The fact that they haven't 60 day IL'd him and had an opportunity to I think is telling of his expected timeline.

League wide, it looks like oblique strains are the injury du jour.

Tough start to spring for the Twins - Gordon high ankle sprain, Celestino out 2 months with a thumb injury and the prize of the Berrios trade in Austin Martin likely out for the season with a UCL strain.

Have you not seen how they handled the injury list the past two years?!?

Obviously I have. They have their motives even if we can’t see them. You cannot possibility actually believe long time baseball execs don’t actually know how to use it.
