I think it's a combination of things

LaRussa was horrendous and overmatched

Katz is highly overrated (Giolito has gotten worse since Katz joined the team)

The hitters approach still looks like a product of Menechino

Rodon and Cueto?   Cease?   Katz contributed to Kopech injuries?

Stop defending Tony. He was awful too and this season doesn’t change that.

Except both of these things can be true:  1) Tony La Russa was absolutely overmatched as a manager and made poor decisions throughout his Sox tenure that limited this team  AND 2) Rick

Rick sucks too. But to act like Tony doesn’t deserve any blame is ridiculous and stupid.

The thing that gets me is they knew those two would be out 2-3 months and still did nothing to help with the depth.

You wanted them to throw even more money at the bullpen?

By May this team gonna be really out of it

If that Tampa - Toronto - Tampa stretch doesn't bury them...

This ump is trash

Cubs three games up on the Sox even... so much for the window.

I think calling this group talented, at this point in time is a stretch.  The sample size is good enough for me, this is a very average collection of players assembled.

We got fooled by the scouting and development.

"Young championship core" LOL!

What the f*** you waiting for? Terrible terrible approach

I think mine was the Ronald Belasario experiment.  The Robin Ventura bullpens defied reason.

I had blocked those teams out.  Ooof.

This season is going to be a real test for Grifol. He doesn't have the added benefit of playing 19 against Detroit and Kansas City, like in the past.

It could legitimately be a 70-92 season.

Then the other alternative is basically White Flag 2/3.

Honestly bottom of 9th in that game was as bad as humanly possible.  Great argument for Robo umps.  Oh, Cubs pitching is better than the Sox :)

Yeah they'll get a top 10 pick and blow that too

They were all very good prospects but they're below average major leaguers.

“Speed never slumps” Pretty sure the ‘22 white sox disproved that truism

Harold, who’s the most maxed-out, low ceiling infielder?

All the money in the bullpen, and the best arm is a guy signed to a MILB deal.

We knew that once this game turned into a bullpen game, we were behind the 8 ball.

Yes, the money stat is bogus if a large portion of that is out

When they can’t even compete with the Giants and O’s of the league…

Would not mind Eloy being traded.

How the hell do you swing at the same pitch a foot off the plate and then take it down the middle?

8 minutes ago, DirtySox said:

Ok that's enough White Sox for today.

I said the same thing only months ago.

Among the other 700 problems, it seems like there might be a lot of overrated talent on the roster?

ELOY GO AWAY AND TAKE YOUR STUPID EARING WITH YOU. MAN THIS GUY IS SOO FRUSTRATING

1-12, 6 K's.

Glad we have a professional hitter as DH.

Over the past 3 seasons, I think the "young core" has actually played like 25 games together.
