On the White Sox roster or across their entire minor league system, if you could choose anyone after Robert and Burger?

Debate/discuss.

Weirdly phrased question but Tim Anderson seems like the obvious choice here.

Nellie Fox, Dick Allen, Frank Thomas and Paul Konerko.

I've paid to watch a lot of guys hit that couldn't hit. Of the names on the list, Eloy. I like watching them go high and far, and when he's hot,  he can do it as well as anyone.

Trying to demonstrate how challenging it currently is to motivate Sox fans... at least the Royals have Witt Jr., Pasquantino and Sal Perez that their fans can cheer and get firmly behind.

I think it might be disrespectful to dig up Nellie's grave, personally.

I voted Moncada, but Robert Jr. is the current Sox in this category. Would say these were the best hitters during my fandom:

  • Luis Robert Jr. (2023)
  • Jose Abreu (2014-2022)
  • Alex Rios (2013)
  • Paul Konerko (2005-2012)
  • Frank Thomas (1990-2004)
  • Harold Baines (1980-1989)
  • Chet Lemon (1977-1979)
  • Jorge Orta (1975-1976)

But there is more than hitting to the game, so I’ll post my favorite White Sox Players through the years, most of whom were also solid to great hitters.

Favorite White Sox Position Players:

  • Billy Hamilton (2023)
  • Jose Abreu (2014-2022)
  • Alex Rios (2013)
  • A.J. Pierzynski (2009-2012)
  • Joe Crede (2003-2008)
  • Magglio Ordonez (1998-2002)
  • Harold Baines (1996-1997)
  • Tim Raines (1991-1995)
  • Ron Kittle (1990)
  • Harold Baines (1982-1989)
  • Chet Lemon (1978-1981)
  • Richie Zisk (1977)
  • Jorge Orta (1975-1976)

Favorite White Sox Pitchers:

  • Lucas Giolito (2018-2023)
  • Jose Quintana (2017)
  • Chris Sale (2012-2016)
  • Mark Buehrle (2010-2011)
  • Jose Contreras (2005-2009)
  • Esteban Loaiza (2003-2004)
  • Keith Foulke (2001-2002)
  • Mike Sirotka (1998-2000)
  • Doug Drabek (1997)
  • Alex Fernandez (1995-1996)
  • Jack McDowell (1993-1994)
  • Bobby Thigpen (1988; 1990-1992)
  • Richard Dotson (1986-1987; 1989)
  • Britt Burns (1980-1985)
  • Ken Kravec (1979)
  • Wilbur Wood (1975-1978)

what is going on here

How the f*** is Robert not on this list? Pretty much the only guy I would even consider off of this roster of corpses.

Allen isn’t with us anymore either.

I would love to take my kids to go see the Big Hurt. s%*# I want to see the Big Hurt hit.

He's the reason I'm a Sox fan, but I was too young and lived to far away to ever see him play.

Baines had the most beautiful swing I have ever seen. Bonds too, if I am honest.

Of the Sox players today, Luis and Eloy. Still have hopes they can get hot at the same time.

These posts may not be equally relevant to fans who are not residents of the Chicagoland area. I have only been to one game in Chicago, a few others in Minneapolis and Kansas City. I would pay to see ANY White Sox game. It is a rare treat!

Caulfield gonna Caulfield.

When Moncada is on he has one of the prettiest most powerful pull swings from the left hand side as anybody, so I went with him. That said, the last guy I really enjoyed watching hit on the Sox was prime Abreu. Other than chasing junk away he really didn't have a weakness and was capable of getting himself out of slumps with a good solid inside out approach while also retaining pull power.

If they ever thaw out Ted Williams, give me a call.

I’d rather watch Big Frank hit in a wheel chair than these guys

Frank on one leg in Toronto was better that most of these bums, that's for sure.

100% agree on Moncada from the left side.

I'm dumb enough to drop a few bucks to see five Aaron Bummer at bats.

Seriously, if were doing this right now there is no one on this team outside of Robert that is must see. How is Eloy Jimenez leading this poll lol.

Robert and Burger are the only 2 on the team I'd pay to watch hit.

Don’t forget 1998 Albert Belle…

Yes, I'm sure there are a few other examples of another hitter topping the ones listed. My list was simply the best hitter over the contiguous period of their White Sox stint. Konerko was part time in 2013, ditto Frank in 2005, thus those two cut-offs explained.
