I'm likely in the minority here, but I would like brining back Reynaldo Lopez and sign him for 1-2 years in the offseason.

I agree. Useful pen arm.

    None of this matters

Very nice return.  @Balta1701 - You going to admit you were wrong about Lucas commanding a top 100 prospect?

We got a top 100 prospect for Giolito.  Isn’t that what most of the optimists were expecting?

Bring Gio back...sign him to a reasonable mid rotation contract and put him back at No. 3.

Lucas was the union rep, Jerry would fire Getz before his regime formally started if Chris tried to claim him.

I’m good moving on from him for good.  The stuff has definitely declined.

Isn't there a union rep on every team at all times?

So he's going to get rid of everyone who ever serves in that capacity?

I’ve wondered the same thing about reps.

No, but Jerry is not going to want someone back who pissed him off during the two (2020 and 2021-2022) owner lockouts to the point he ordered Hahn to play arbitration hardball over a rounding error ($50K).

They are not competing and have no intentions of extending him (and the QO is a non factor after his trade) so there is no point.

It's cannon fodder. Either a career going up or a career going down. I'd rather start sometime on the way up and lose

Goodness, did anyone notice how well Lopez pitched for LAA? I really don't understand that organization, unless its strictly CBT threshold BS.

They are toast. He’s a free agent. Saving so,e money and potentially a better comp pick is the clear play.

A lot of hits and a lot of walks; those numbers aren't all that sporty.

Might as well claim Gio and give him a proper send off. But I think a wild card team will claim him and give him a shot. He pitched well literally his last start.

There isn’t a stiff on the current roster who can sniff ReyLo’s FIP while in LA. As long as you aren’t giving up runs, I don’t care about the hits and walks.

He would be less than thrilled being picked up by a team out of contention, I’m sure

Don’t care. If we are gonna suck ass give us back our Lucas.

I have no idea why anyone would actually suggest claiming anyone that is an impending FA makes a sliver of sense for this Sox.

Have you watched the Sox bullpen.

Lopez would be a welcome addition even for a month.

100%

Something wrong with that dude, either mechanics (which his OG highschool coach couldn't even fix), or his stuff has permanently deteriorated

Stuff isn't sticky no more is the likely scenario.

He has a 1.457 WHIP, clearly some numbers have just gone temporarily haywire with him. Basically everything he is throwing is either a strikeout a hit or a walk.

is there any CBA loophole that we could get a draft pick for Lucas if he was here for 5 out of 6 months of the season?

I don't think so.

These games don’t mean anything. Sox are better off losing than winning in 2023 at this point.

Agree to bring ReyLo back.  He was excellent with the Angels.
