This running out of pitchers thing all traces back to Luis Castillo being one of the worst pitchers in baseball this season and Brazoban to a much lesser extent has been useless...starting with that damned extra innings Red Sox game they blew 3 or 4 leads

Red Sox actually came from behind five times in that game.

and could only do it once against CLE and then nada in the postseason

Is it a bad time to bring up the Chicago and Cleveland deadline acquisitions?

its always a good time. The FOs have played out just like the games. Cleveland touches Adell and he saves their lineup. We get geriatric Brazoban and he stubs his toe and cant pitch.
4/5 of our acquisitions arent even on the ALDS roster.
Adell/Griffin saved this series for the Guardians.

The deadline reminds me of my fantasy football draft. "Barkley is going to bounce back after his down year.. ill draft him over Walker.. oh and ill grab Jayden Daniels after.. heh im so smart". Meanwhile the guy thats going to win the league took Walker and waited on a QB till the ninth round that is performing very well. f***!!!!!

If anything, this year will get him an extension.

Yes it will. Doesnt mean its right. The trade deadline moves should cost him his job.

He's gonna get a lot of credit for the team being way ahead of schedule. But he really capped this team's playoff potential with his horrid trade deadline. We somehow won 4 playoff games with 1 actual starter. That in itself is almost a miracle. Imagine if we had someone like Tyler Mahle or even Foster Griffin to start a game instead of Luis Castillo's $25 million sitting on the IL because he sucks so bad that they had to fake an injury for him.

And this probably limits what JR allows them to do next year...if there is a season at all.

Had Walker all last year when he was splitting with Charbonnet. Drove me insane.

This year’s draft, Walker went one pick earlier, got Omarion Hampton instead.

The Castillo move was obviously better off not done. But that’s why forcing outcomes to placate the public is a bad idea. Getz made a decision at the deadline to live another day for the longer term future rather than force things prematurely. I think he was smart. But it’s a personal preference depending on the goal. Getz had his eyes forward beyond 2026. Obviously if 2026 was your priority, the deadline was a failure.

Wow. And I thought I'd read bad takes before.... congrats. This takes the cake.

I dont celebrate failure, so thanks. Youve made some awful takes recently but I would not ever say that

I mean Getz did exactly what he wanted to do this season with the roster and the farm with near perfect execution. And he’s on the doorstep of the ALCS with big team over performance for the ages. Fire him? Extend him.

Jerry isnt going to fire Getz. He got that carret Jerry talks about for second place and also got him playoff games money too. Exactly what Jerry wants.

Getz is not perfect but people wanting to fire him are crazy. He probably should and will win GM of the year

The Sox are 4-2 in the playoffs and can clinch their 2nd series on Saturday.

And what about the trade deadline

He didn’t care much about it

What about it? The trade deadline for buyers is basically the opposite of buy low, sell high. This year's trade deadline was even more of a seller's market. I am fine with Getz not trading our top prospects.

Are you okay with Getz trading prospects to actively make the major league team WORSE?

I have nothing to add.

Chris Getz is not a good GM, this isn't even really debatable. That being said, there is zero chance he gets fired after the season we just had and it's an incredibly wild take to even suggest that he should be fired.

So its not even debateable that he's a bad GM, and its simultaneously a crazy take to want him fired.

This is why the Sox have been the worst franchise in sports for 100+ years.

Yes, I would say for the Chicago White Sox having an overachieving season, making the playoffs, and advancing a minimum of 1 round shouldn't cost their GM their job, even if I think he's not a good GM.

We aren't the Yankees man.
