  • I honestly don’t understand why you are clearly more mad at this site for deciding that this and the last couple seasons results are unacceptable, than you are mad at Reinsdorf for being the puppet ma

  • I don't get emotional about sports like you losers. I get emotional about the tone on sports message boards.

He basically said the same s%*# last year, and everything got worse.

Plus he probably didn't even write it himself.

Did I miss the announcement of when Soxfest is??

Jerry forgot to mention that this team finished the season 5-1.....sure the Tigers were probably hung over or still drunk the last 2 games but hey a win is a win.

These statements ring incredibly hollow without action. The fact that he hired Grifol, then Getz, show he has no interest in winning.  He’s 88 years old and spent much of the last 20 years watching his teams not compete. You would think he would want to make a run for it with one of the two teams.

Hopefully he is still wanting to sell the Sox, and we get a buyer who wants to compete for championships.

Spare us the words. Spend some money.

Alright season is over no use dwelling in the past.

I hope he takes questions from reporters but this a good statement and surprisingly humbling and reflective from Jerry. It sounds like he’s aware of his failing as owner and wants to correct them.
I wonder if this means a director of analytics is coming to the org?

Jerry had a ghostwriter. He just put his name on it. An act of contrition isnt his style.

The fact he hired Tony....

He didn't say anything about the new stadium.

It's either that, or that he's 88 fuckin years old. Obviously a terrible owner, but watching an 88 year old get embarrassed by the press isn't going to make me feel better about the Sox future.

I doubt he cares how any of us feel.  He just didn’t want to face the press in a conference so he made this preemptive release.

Because he knows he isn't getting one! 😆

Talk is cheap Jerry...put your money where your mouth is.

Exactly the statement that most organizations would send out.  Boeing's mistakes killed people and they said about the same.

Nothing he said was going to make anyone feel any better, there was no action to be taken. He's got this off season to win back fans.

They are winning games in MiLB, independently rated by outsiders the farm system has jumped up in the ratings. The team may have won another ten games by rushing a couple guys up but didn't.

But Jerry is still the owner and Getz is still the architect. They will not hire anyone as manager that's going to make us jump for joy, that person wouldn't take the job at any price.

Yep, trading Crochet and Robert is really going to energize the fan base

Action please, not words.

And we'll still be here. Lol insanity

With Fletcher and Vargas in full-time starting roles and some more dumpster diving pickups by the master of it, Mr. Chris Getz.

This is total BS!!!   i guess he’s saying with Kannapolis and Birmingham winning, true reinforcements are ON THE WAY!!!!   Anyone who follows the minor leagues knows our hitting talent is fair at best.   We will NOT be spending money in the off-season on free agent talent so there is no hope of the offense improving.   We are looking at a third season in a row with 100+ losses.  i’m guessing that has never happened before?

Especially when Getz trades them for a near zero meaningful return.  They also package Benintendi with someone for salary relief and decline Moncadas option and…although those two both sucked, they are at least mildly serviceable MLB level players.  If you thought this looked like a AAA this season just wait.
