October 31, 20241 yr I could see a team take a flyer on him on a 1 year prove it deal. But him staying healthy and proving it seems pretty unlikely.

October 31, 20241 yr I don't hate on him. I feel sorry. There is no organization that has a faith healer for his career. The injury bug transfers to a different team.
October 31, 20241 yr I'm sad actually. He was one of the signings I was really excited about. We were working that Cuba connection. It's just a reminder of when we were on top of the world and reasonably expecting multiple championship seasons. Good luck to him.

November 1, 20241 yr Prediction: Moncada signs a FA deal in Houston to replace Bregman. Is an all star next year.

November 1, 20241 yr Watch the Sox resign him, lol In all honesty, he needs to be a utility guy if he wants to extend his career beyond his next contract. Be a backup 3B/1B on a contender or go to TB to see if they could somehow heal you and fix you.
November 1, 20241 yr Like Anderson, this guy and Eloy will be out of baseball within a season or two.

Kopech was already pitching like this at the time of the trade. The Sox failure with him was to not recognize this and pull him back to potentially get more in the offseason. The injuries and lack of playing time, plus going into his age 30 season are all working against Moncada.
November 1, 20241 yr I wish Yoan the best. He was always Charmin Soft, but the talent is there. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see him but put him 3+ WAR season in 2025 IF he can play 120+ games. Huge if though, obviously. I bet he gets more than most think to. I'd say 1 year $5-7M with some attainable performance incentives. He'll certainly have a lot of play for, and is still a well above average defensive 3B.
