December 11, 20241 yr Disappointed they didn't include Benintendi though, the sox saving money was a big issue for me.
December 11, 20241 yr My only problem with Chase is that his name is way too close to Nicole Kidman's character in Batman Forever.
December 11, 20241 yr This all worked out perfectly. It was Tweeted that as of yesterday morning, both teams had minimal dialogue. Thank you Yankees and Fried! I guess ultimately, thank you Juan Soto for not going to Yankees!

December 11, 20241 yr Was hoping for a Basallo/Beavers based return, this is a nice alternative, perhaps better?
December 11, 20241 yr Ha, fwiw, Fangraphs said Gonzalez was the most disappointing prospect of 2024 when they updated Boston’s system
December 11, 20241 yr Chris Getz played this about as well as possible. Not sure he was getting anything close to this package at the trade deadline.

Yeah, Teel is a fantastic prospect, but don’t love the fit with Quero. That being said, we needed to get the best package of positional talent possible for Crochet and this is a surprisingly really good deal. Montgomery was essential as the #2 piece given how their system stacks up and our desperate need for OF talent. The last two pieces are legitimate prospects who have a chance of being real contributors and possibly very soon. I hate to say it, but Getz appears to have delivered here.

December 11, 20241 yr If you're on the side that this move wasn't a good trade by Getz.........I'm not sure what to tell you, at this point. Maybe you enjoy being contrary for the sake of it? Getz got great return for Crochet.

December 11, 20241 yr 7 minutes ago, JUSTgottaBELIEVE said: Teel and Montgomery were two of my favorite names from the last two drafts. f*** yea. This past spring, I optimistically speculated that Crochet could return one 50/55 FV prospect and another 45 FV prospect. Boy, was I wrong. Way underestimated him. This is clearly a better return than what they got for Cease. Just goes to show how the league values Crochet relative to Cease despite the limited track record. This is like the anti-Hahn trade return where the third and fourth pieces are actually good and not pretty much throwaways, as in the Sale and Quintana deals.
December 11, 20241 yr Development, development, development. I will not get excited about any "prospect haul" ever again as long as Reinsdorf and the people he puts in charge run this team. We had a top 10 prospect in Montgomery at this time last year, he flamed out bad in AAA. Now we're suppose to expect to take both Teel and Braden (from a well ran organization) and finish up their development portion? Sorry, not excited.
December 11, 20241 yr Chris needs to find some more guys to flip at the deadline now. Need some reclamation projects like last year.

December 11, 20241 yr Sox lost 120 games and look to be worse with no hope next few years. I’m shocked some are upset they now have two potential starting catchers.

December 11, 20241 yr 21 minutes ago, southsider2k5 said: I guess looking at the whole package, it is a bit more than an expected, but a lot less than I had hoped for. I am really surprised no one else stepped up to beat this with Boston's top 3 off of the board. Teel is generally seen as a top 20 prospect, so not a ton of guys out there who would be higher regarded.
December 11, 20241 yr Boston loves trading for tall lefties that throw weird, don't they? Pretty good return. This is the kind of value we should have gotten for Cease.
