WBWSF
The only thing worse than losing baseball games is losing baseball games with no hitting. I thought if Robert Jr, Vargas, Vaughn and Benintendi would hit this team would be better. Only Benintendi is hitting. I also thought that Quero, Teel and Meidroth would be on the team to provide some hope for the future. None of the 3 are on the team. The thing that gets me about this whole situation is that ownership seems content with all of this.

You're just now realizing we have a bottom 2 mlb payroll and will probably play service time games with Teel as well? And are also angling for a Top 1-3 draft pick in 2026?

Robert seems to have one foot out the door already. There's really nothing here that makes a pitcher really have to stop and take notice. If this continues and Benintendi stays relatively hot he won't see any decent pitches to hit in game situations. tray
Not buying the service time arguments now or ever. Careers are short especially for baseball players. Nothing in the future in baseball or for that matter in life is certain. Put the best team possible on the field. The team can always keep/sign a player or trade him. You can't build a hypothetical roster in some future year based on keeping a few players until the end of team control.

tray
Yes, I admit that it is depressing to see how Minnesota still appears better than the Sox but no reason to stop trying to improve this team and win as many games as possible.

There's really a legitimate question whether Reinsdorf and the Board have ANY willingness at all to spend beyond maintaining a Bottom 1-3 MLB payroll until the predicted Lockout/Labor dispute before the 2027 season. Last time I checked, we were only ahead of the Marlins in that spending category.

Fvk Ishbia. Some treat him like some sort of potential savior of the franchise . Oh sure, he is going to do you as a fan some sort of favor by casting aside personal gain and private equity principles to gamble money on enormous player contracts. You think he is some kind of gaddamn fool? How did his probing for a majority ownership stake work out for Minnesota fans? In reality this guy is just looking for another deal to make himself wealthier. As Americans, we should all know by now that immense greed is a disease that spreads quickly among the billionaire class. You know a lot of these guys by name. 1

That still SHOULD have been enough to dominate the AL Central, but not with the way Hahn allocated the budget. The question is how much more Ishbia will spend to bring back the lost/disenchanted Sox fans, and how much he's willing to invest on the private side of a new White Sox stadium...? We see the example of Durant being brought into the Suns with his Justin's brother Matt, but the disastrous side taking on the Bradley Beal contract as well. As Americans, we should all know by now that immense greed is a disease that spreads quickly among the billionaire class. You have already seen how terrible the team is under Reinsdorf for numerous years and would prefer to continue his awful regime of ownership rather than see what a new owner with more money could potentially do? “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” Also, Ishbia somehow screwed over Twins fans by showing interest in the team but not actually purchasing them? Huh? That’s ridiculous. It isn’t all that rare that someone is interested in purchasing a team and a potential sale falls through. And I absolutely love your very last sentence and the fact that you apparently won’t attribute it to Reinsdorf as well… “As Americans, we should all know by now that immense greed is a disease that spreads quickly among the billionaire class.“ Also, as a counterpoint to this point — I’m sure Dodgers fans are hating their billionaire ownership group right now in Guggenheim Baseball Management and Mark Walter. A World Series last year, the highest payroll in baseball, and an 8-0 start this season. Damn those greedy billionaires!!! greg775
Tiny crowd. Did the game start late? Delayed? I see our bats were quiet. 2-4 not a bad homestand considering the roster. Should be interesting to see if we have a bad roadtrip.
