He is faking an injury because he loves playing for the Sox so much.

he needs to realize that, yes, they have Dominos Pizza here, but other cities have it as well

Anyone who thinks Tony LaRussa brought anything positive to this organization this time around is truly derranged.

  • I may be in the minority but I have no issue with them keeping Luis. They have nothing committed to payroll next year and no one knocking at the door to be an every day CFer. Also, I would consider ke

  • Oh no. Chris Getz maybe asked for a desirable target in trade negotiations. It's truly unfortunate dialogue ends completely after one player is inquired about.

Robert out of the lineup again. So boys what is it? Injury or likely Trade?

Of course the Phillies et al are interested in Taylor:  they think they can get this top-of-the rotation talent for the price of a reliever.  Trading him for Crawford (much less Robert and him for Crawford) under-values him.
The Sox may see him as a reliever, but he certainly shouldn't price him as one.  That would be clowning.

Injury

Injury

That’s the million dollar question

Would be fascinating if he goes to Phillies and then faces the Sox next week

I can’t wait for this guy to be gone, and I never thought that would ever happen but here we are.

Robert and Taylor to Phillies makes way too much sense

Grant Taylor would be the headliner and the  Sox need every good prospect.  You don't trade them away just to get rid of Robert when they have 4 other relievers to trade away.

Yeah that's how I see it too, cause yesterday Venable said he was available.

IMO among realistic targets, NYM would be a better fit than PHI.

Just get me Gilbert plus a 12-18 prospect like fathom said earlier.

So if they get Vientos for Robert, I assume infield set up becomes Vargas 1B, Chase 2B, Colson SS, Vientos 3B

Feels like you’d have to swap Vientos and Vargas.  Personally, I think Vientos is a great fit for us.  Would prefer one of their non Benge OF prospects.

Yeah that seems to be what it would be on the regular.

Dont want anything to do with Vientos

Ugh… not feeling this Bob nugget:

The Chicago White Sox want third baseman Mark Vientos from the New York Mets in any deal for Luis Robert Jr., who has a .983 OPS in 11 July games.

I like Vientos. Great project for Fuller to take on. Sox need power.

Even if he’s a 1B / DH?

Vientos for 2 months of injury prone, terrible season Robert, seems like a really good outcome. Despite being another DH/1B, it seems kinda like a no brainer

How do you fit him and Vargas into lineup everyday over the next 4+ seasons? Especially with the Sox seemingly giving up on Vargas at 3B. They feel like extremely similar players.

Beyond Benintendi, we've kind of cleared out all our 1B/DH's, haven't we? I don't consider Noda or Elko to be viable major leaguers, at this point.

Is it?  Is Vientos even good?  He’s a one tool, slow, RH hitting 1B / DH who is hitting worse than Robert right now.  His success last year was driven by a 92 percentile barrel rate, which has fallen off a cliff.  Can he get back to that elite level?  To me, his 2024 season feels like a total outlier.  Maybe there is some underlying issue that can be corrected, but I am not excited about acquiring a project 1B / DH type who has four years of control left and will further limit our flexibility in the infield.

And has like 4 years of control. I’d much prefer a LHH OF with some flaws like Clifford
