Trading him for Crawford (much less Robert and him for Crawford) under-values him. The Sox may see him as a reliever, but he certainly shouldn't price him as one. That would be clowning. Personally, I think Vientos is a great fit for us. Would prefer one of their non Benge OF prospects.

I don't consider Noda or Elko to be viable major leaguers, at this point.

His success last year was driven by a 92 percentile barrel rate, which has fallen off a cliff. Can he get back to that elite level? To me, his 2024 season feels like a total outlier. Maybe there is some underlying issue that can be corrected, but I am not excited about acquiring a project 1B / DH type who has four years of control left and will further limit our flexibility in the infield.

And has like 4 years of control. I’d much prefer a LHH OF with some flaws like Clifford
