If he was disappointed about not making the OD roster I wonder how this kick in the nuts of your ego goes.. yikes. Hopefully it works out.

Probably less of a kick in the nuts than looking helpless against AAA pitching. Colson has no one to blame but himself.

Nothing to worry about. The Sox have a hitting guru.

The guy the Orioles fired will fix him.

The Orioles offense started tanking in the second half of last year when he was still there.

Well, seems he wasn't the problem since it has continued to tank.

That could just be false equivalence.  How has he done fixing Robert, Vaughn, and Vargas?

But the Orioles are BROKEN now.

It's Moneyball 2...it's NOT giving $5.25 million to Kyle Gibson and lighting it on fire, or even more money to a rapidly aging Charlie Morton.

Vargas is looking like he actually might make it...MAYBE.

Sosa and Baldwin (and Meidroth) at least looked decent.

Then there's Quero...can only contain the excitement by dousing it with a Campfire Milkshake and a City Connect jersey.

Better than the O's are doing fixing whatever is going on with them. At least Vargas and Robert are showing signs of life. Sorry I offended your Baltimore Orioles.

He does?  He is hitting .192 with a .562 OPS.

Compare to 2 weeks ago.

Progress/ion.

And he's playing close to GG glove level defense, which makes him more viable than previously believed.

There needs to be a documentary done about how the Sox ruined so much talent. Is there something in the water? Did the MonStars land and take everyone’s talent? Questions need to be answered

I don't think they've done anything like this for any other prospects in the Sox org before, have they? We've had other prospects struggle / hit ceilings (or not hit anything at all), and the most we've done is drop 'em down a level.

I don't like that he's struggling, but this again shows the current regime is willing to try stuff that goes against the grain of what this organization has done previously.

We're really celebrating a team breaking a player to such an extent that he has to be removed from games to be fixed?

I’ve never heard of an organization having to pull a top 100 prospect out of AAA (not just a demotion) to work on his swing.

The logical response is somewhere in between.

This is obviously a bad thing and continues the trend of the Sox seemingly unable to develop hitting prospects at any consistent level.

I view the move to send him to AZ at least thoughtful, instead of just taking the "Well hopefully he figures it out at AAA, lets just continue to do what we've been doing this entire time and hope it works."

But I don't think the Sox deserve any roses thrown their way for what is seemingly a failed top prospect.

I'm not sure if that's the case here.  The last month of last season he looked really good and then he carried it into the AFL and that's when the talk of him making the opening day roster started.  He spent the rest of the off season working out at his agents facility in Tennessee and showed up to spring training and looked bad and it's carried over to triple A.  It seems they have to undo whatever the hell his agents "hitting gurus" did to him this off season.

He's done.

No longer excited about this guy. Prove me wrong.

Not going to pretend to know what Colson has/hasn’t done, but what about ALL of 2024 too? The problem is that he just refuses to listen to the Sox great hitting development?

How about TA, Moncada, Eloy, Robert, Vaughn, and literally anyone that swings a baseball bat that comes into the organization?

Lol ahh yes, the classic white sox did nothing wrong with his development it was outside influence.

He was dealing with an off the field issue last year and it seems his back injury was a little more serious than they were letting on so some bad luck and bad timing.  Either way he needs to get his head out of his ass.  It's go time.

I don’t care about the Orioles, but the only thing the Sox are showing is a flat line on their EKG.

How many "false positives" have there been with the AFL in Sox prospect history (not carrying over into the following season)....?

QUITE a few.
