TheFutureIsNear
There needs to be a documentary done about how the Sox ruined so much talent. Is there something in the water? Did the MonStars land and take everyone’s talent? Questions need to be answered

We've had other prospects struggle / hit ceilings (or not hit anything at all), and the most we've done is drop 'em down a level. I don't like that he's struggling, but this again shows the current regime is willing to try stuff that goes against the grain of what this organization has done previously. We're really celebrating a team breaking a player to such an extent that he has to be removed from games to be fixed? I’ve never heard of an organization having to pull a top 100 prospect out of AAA (not just a demotion) to work on his swing.

The logical response is somewhere in between. This is obviously a bad thing and continues the trend of the Sox seemingly unable to develop hitting prospects at any consistent level. I view the move to send him to AZ at least thoughtful, instead of just taking the "Well hopefully he figures it out at AAA, lets just continue to do what we've been doing this entire time and hope it works." But I don't think the Sox deserve any roses thrown their way for what is seemingly a failed top prospect.

The last month of last season he looked really good and then he carried it into the AFL and that's when the talk of him making the opening day roster started. He spent the rest of the off season working out at his agents facility in Tennessee and showed up to spring training and looked bad and it's carried over to triple A. It seems they have to undo whatever the hell his agents "hitting gurus" did to him this off season. 2

The problem is that he just refuses to listen to the Sox great hitting development? How about TA, Moncada, Eloy, Robert, Vaughn, and literally anyone that swings a baseball bat that comes into the organization?

He was dealing with an off the field issue last year and it seems his back injury was a little more serious than they were letting on so some bad luck and bad timing. Either way he needs to get his head out of his ass. It's go time.

How many "false positives" have there been with the AFL in Sox prospect history (not carrying over into the following season)....? QUITE a few.
