The Sox were up by 4.

I know, but I thought if the tying run was in the hole, it would count. Because if you come into the game with a runner on base and up 4, that’s basically the same situation as being up 3 with the bases empty.

But I was wrong. Guess you need two guys on while up 4 for it to count.

Ok just making sure since you kept asking about a 3 run lead 😋

Where’s the captain of the Vargas fan club?🤣

It’s very nice that he is finally hitting but he still has a long way to go to finish the season with decent numbers.

.221 / .314 / .350 / .664

Sad that this is an improvement over his usual numbers, but it just goes to show how horrible a hitter he has been since 2022.

Other teams have stars.  We hope and pray that a guy can OPS above .700.

If Vargas is a thing...and all the other young ones keep producing...this team is actually watchable and dare i say fun??

Reinsdorf will find a way to ruin it.

I think he gets traded

Lee is the one to trade.  Either  will bring back the value of the standard backup catcher.   But Thaiss does some things that are particularly important to this young team, including demonstrating plate discipline.

Vargas is certainly born-again.  I’d give a couple of our AAA outfielders a chance of redemption.  Last year was tough on everybody, so they can’t let it write the story.

Vargas is relatively young (25 years old), has improved offensively and plays plus defense.

Write him in as the WSox 3rd basemen this season.

I Loved watching that game. Go WSox !

There definitely are some positive signs, starting pitching except for that blowout in KS last week has been outstanding, team ERA is at 4.01, just about at the league average. There still is work to be done with the offense, hopefully Benintendi returns soon and Robert and Vaughn start producing on a consistent basis, if that happens this team could get to 70 wins which would be amazing after what we saw last year.

Just no way this team improves by 29 full games with less talent on the roster than last year.  45-55 wins, sure.

They would need to start beating the AL Central much more frequently as well.
