Going for 3-0 on the game Threads... Sox vs Diamondbacks 6:40ct.

Recommended Posts

This is the first Sox game I've watched since I can remember. They just happen to be playing the D'Backs which I have to play extra for.  Don't have to do that to watch the NFL Cardinals or Suns.

BTW if you listen to the D'Backs you get more info about the Sox then the Sox broadcast

I see a 9 game losing streak in their future!

Better than 14 and 21 consecutive from last year...yay?

Also, very quietly Jo Adell now has a 779 ops.  Lower average, but lots of power.

10-0? Back to the dumpster. What pathetic baseball. ... Has anyone noticed this year's Sox seem to have saved the Cardinals season? The Cards swept us and in doing so, woke up.

Can’t believe how bad they were after coming off a series win in Toronto. They need to shut down Smith for a start or maybe 2 but that doesn’t address how pathetic they were with the bats. Slater and Taylor should not be in the starting lineup, they can be used for late inning defensive moves, bring up Baldwin. I keep hoping Robert will snap out of it but it looks like he’s a lost cause. Most of our offense comes from infield guys unless Benintendi is in the lineup, keep him in there against lefthanders, he’s better than Slater and Taylor, our outfielders were 1 for 10 last night with 5 Ks and all 3 are righty batters who were facing a lefthander. Why is Capra still in the starting lineup, even Rojas is better. I’m losing faith with Venable and his BS lineups.

Offense is so bad. Not being able to score with this weather and this pitcher is embarrassing

Robert is going to get hot once the temps get to above 100 degrees.

There have been comments about it would be wrong to bring up Colson Montgomery. I don't see the harm in it. Could he possibly be worse than Capra? What do they have to lose by bringing him up?

The crazy thing is over his last 7 days Colson is very Capra-esque

.063/.167/.125/.292

Dude came back from AZ on a bender, but maybe he needs to go back again, as it has worn off.

1) Colson's not a utility infielder. They lose some flexibility on the roster, and force Meidroth to be the UI late in the game.
2) Monty's bat isn't major league quality, right now. At least not at the point of playing every day, striking out 4 times a game, and pretending to learn anything valuable from that. We just did this with Elko.
3) Meidroth would have to move off his position for Monty to get playing time.
4) Monty most probably wouldn't replace Capra. He'd replace Noda on the roster, and he'd probably take away PAs from Sosa, as they don't seem to want to play Sosa or Meidroth at 3B, so Monty would be the SS, Meidroth to 2B, Vargas at 1B, and Rojas at 3B. Sosa would have to rotate between 2B and DH.
