The fan was a fairly young man. I hope for his sake he learned a valuable life lesson here.

The JR owned White Sox are a terrible organization but how can you blame the organization for what that cretin said.

Come on. This isn't on the White Sox.

  • Maybe we shouldn't do that. Maybe we shouldn't refer to human beings as "waste products" either. It's dehumanizing in a similar vein as this loser fan's actions; it doesn't make you better than him, i

Article said 22 years old.  That guy is going to wear this mistake for quite some time.

Did you see him get removed?

There was a clip floating around twitter, he was wearing a Bears jersey. Lemme see if I can find it again

No, I wasn’t there. Just read about his age in an article. Truthfully I feel for the kid. His behaviour was disgusting, but most of us were lucky enough that our worst behaviours weren’t national news.

Let the guy be an honorary first base coach and then we'll let a pair of formerly disgraced fans redeem themselves the only way they know how

Also he is now banned from all MLB stadiums

I’ve always wondered how they enforce this.

While I have to imagine he can get around it fairly easily if he wanted to, I think they try and track people through the mlb app since that’s how tickets are distributed now

22 is definitely old enough to know better than to harass anyone about a dead mother.  That is elementary / high school crap.  He deserves whatever life lessons he receives for as long as his action is remembered.

Very few s%*# heads ever learn. This is what happens when you never get punched in the mouth growing up. Coddled bitches shouting vile s%*# this is probably the first time he's ever even felt any consequences.

And now it’s coming out a fan heckled Marte about his dead mom.  What a pathetic organization

Not the White Sox fault.

And hopefully the rest of MLB joins the Sox.

They listened.

If I were at the game i would have probably decked the stupid f***.

I hope he gets a huge standing ovation when he bats today

He did, and the scoreboard put something nice up for him

Side note, I did not realize how good Ketel Marte has been the last three years. 3.1 bWAR this year already. 4.9 and 6.8 in 2023 and 2024.

Internet users always seem to find out who clowns like this are. He's in for a well deserved rough patch really soon.

I get it, but that makes me worry that there will now be threats to him and his family. Just perpetuating repulsive behavior.

Lucky for him we have very few fans. I was thinking the same thing u wrote until I realized the Sox probably have a loyal fanbase of about 1,000 to 3,000 fans. Everybody else fair weather. Most of the loyal ones are old and won't check the Internet.

Random person says mean thing.  This isnt even worth a story.  It certainly is not a reflection on the White Sox.

It isn’t the Sox fault but it’s definitely another story that will cause an even more negative perception of an already embarrassing organization.  This can go on the Sox Hall of Shame right next to William Ligue and son.

The heckler actually knew that Ketel's mother died in an auto accident ... in 2017 ?  Any way you slice it, the ejection was justified but it seems weird that this fan would have even known about what happened back then. I'm proud of the White Sox for dealing with this situation as they did.

Maybe he's one of those loser type fans, like in certain college groups, who research the opponent to know what to yell at them.
