What's identity politics? It has to do with a fundamental misunderstanding of scripture. Why is he citing the covenant God made specifically with Jews? I thought he was a Christian? He's following the rest of Jewish law, right?

It's an intellectual argument, kitekrazy. I dunno if you know about such a thing.

Predictable response.  Then an insult.

I have no clue what Kershaw said.

seems as though he's the only one putting other posters down. I would certainly be curious about his knowledge of the Bible because I think I took the "Christian perspective". It's also just a baseball game, but that guy Kershaw fundamentally misinterpreted scripture in order to be hateful to people. He should be more critical of divorce, the New Testament and Jesus specifically is much more clear about that. These Christians should try to act more like Jesus, frankly.

Ok I'm about at the time of a West Coast game where I decide "do I stay up to see them blow a late lead"?

I want to see Taylor try to close it out

And looks like someone who’s actually swung a bat right handed before

Still having flashbacks to 2017 RH Moncada?

Eight years ago now feels like decades.  Or the Kopech TJ injury in the rain.

I would only say (before I stop commenting on this topic forever on this forum and probably the internet), both Jews and Chrstians throughout history have updated on "Old Testament God's" vision of the world. "Old Testament God" updated on a lot of things their neighbors were doing, ie institutionalized pedophilia and executing an entire family for one person's crime. Old Testament God said "four generations should be punished for a crime" (Exodus 20:5); later on in the book, Old Testament God says, "only the one man should be punished" (Ezekiel 18:20). God updated himself in his own book.

Only point I make about the "anti-pride" stuff is that it practically has nothing to do with Christianity. I make the point about "arsenokoitai" because it translates, basically, to "man, to bed" and it probably means gay sex but it also could very easily refer to pederasty or prostitution or penetrative sex that doesn't result in a child; and it's a whole lot more vague than divorce. You don't see these ball players up in arms about people getting divorced, do you, whereas the scripture is much more clear on that matter. There's a whole lot of text devoted to how you shouldn't get divorced. Matt 18 comes to mind, but there's one specific line where Jesus is very forceful about it, and I was thinking, like, 'whoa, Jesus, chill out'. The stuff about "being gay" is quite vague and was probably not all that important to the people at the time.

Baseball might be "social conservative" compared to other sports, and so am I, but that idea of 'social conservatism' has a very toxic legacy within the sport.
