Someone will come in and turn up the temp, and we already know, someone is waiting to cry about what is said.

Although DeJong did have a 30 HR season early in his career. DeJong had game power and elite defense. I think Colson has better power, and his defense can be up there. I'm not good enough to decide if it's "elite", but he sure looks pretty good. That's why I say that DeJong is Colson's floor. If you get around 15 bWAR during Colson's 6-7 years of control, that would be a disappointment, but still a win considering his draft position.
kitekrazy
I'm happy for both as players. Imagine being in Vargas' shoes going from the Dodgers to the Sox and being exposed to Grtifol. Colson wondering if he is going to waste away in Charlotte. I applaud the Sox for risking the sink or swim. Nice to see something work out for the Sox even if it fails long term. Colson's floor is what we saw with is back injuries and his sub .100 stretches with a ton of strikeouts. 1

Hopefully the Sox have an amazing chiropractor that can keep it under control. Do players live on cortisone shots these days?

In the back they usually use inject a prednisone or dexamethisone, less damaging to the area.

I know my old man had it done a few times on his back and it felt good for a few weeks but he said it would hurt again after a couple weeks and he would have to go back over and over. Is it just a continuous scam which just relieves pain temporarily? Edited October 5 by WhiteSox2023

They have a very good specific treatment effectiveness. However, in general patients need to continuously go for treatment to improve symptoms.
greg775
I can't believe it's offseason already ... what does a player like Colson do now? Take 2 months off? Then start running and hitting in cage? Or do they keep working starting now? He had that home run stroke going for the Sox. Must be scary to take a lot of time off then try to reclaim the magic during spring training. A lot of players have personal trainers that they work with over the off season.

Some days he was a completely unplayable mess, and others he looked like a superstar. I literally have zero idea what to expect from him.
