nrockway
I bet Julks gets picked up. Too bad it didn’t work out, nice guy and he had a killer first week as a Sox.
Lip Man 1
Shocked Vargas is back so soon given what the Sun-Times wrote.
southsider2k5
Well hopefully we aren't repeating the cycle of the dude being at 75% and running out there obviously injured like we have before.

Probably asked him to go to AAA and he just refused. Oh well. Getz has done a decent job managing the 40 man this year. Losing Julks isn't anything to lose sleep over.

Not sure how likely that is but seems like they just wanted to keep a 40 man spot open with Perez now taking up a spot and Gomez added to it. WBWSF
I'm surprised that Elvis Peguero was sent down. I thought he would start next week on Elvis night on the next homestand.
Bob Sacamano
I figured Rojas was the logical one to go. Or Mead for regular at bats. So many IF options and not enough spots for consistent playing time, as well as the catchers, Benintendi, and Tauchman seeing time at the DH spot. Vargas, Sosa, Colson, Baldwin, Mead, Amaya, Rojas. Rojas will never die. Seems like once Meidroth is back we have all the IF more than covered even without Rojas, but who knows what they are thinking.
WestEddy
The White Sox 40-man was full, so somebody had to get bumped to roster Yoendrys Gomez. That turned out to be Julks. Because we're on the other side of the TDL, Julks has to be waived. If he passes through waivers, he has the option to refuse an outright assignment and declare for free agency. Martin Perez is still on the 60-day IL, so he is not taking up a roster spot. He will force a DFA somewhere when he's ready in the next week. That would be okay.

He's been starting down in Charlotte and has been doing pretty well, so maybe they give him a longer leash given the rate they've been churning through arms the last week. 2

He somehow had a 3/1 K/BB ratio and a 2.12 ERA in Charlotte. Not sure, maybe the Sox ID'd something in him. He was awful as a reliever in MLB. Only 25 so some development left you'd think.

Rojas Amaya Clevinger Julks Fletcher S.Wilson Don’t forget DeLoach and Robertson. Getz is the master of acquiring a bunch of outfielders and then never giving them enough playing time to see if they are legitimate major leaguers because he signed too many worthless vets and refuses to cut them. Why would Robertson not be playing right now? Cut Taylor and Rojas and give Tauchman plenty of rest… Edited August 15 by WhiteSox2023
