This Brewers roster at this moment isn’t close to being the best in the NL. Sproat was awful and Quero is a star.

They are tied for the best record in the game. Prove me wrong.

  • Just waiting for Reinsdorf to leave this earth

  • hey, at least we’re hurting the Cubs and Montgomery and Murakami had good games.

  • You score 7 and lose. It's a curse. Won't be lifted until the Reinsdorf name is out of the picture

It is pretty sad that at no time during this game I was confident the Sox would win. I just expect them to find a way to lose. Once again this bullpen is ass.

At least they're still 0-0 in one run losses.

the sox should trade for a middle reliever like seranthony dominguez for those games when we're up 2

Again, I am not going to read too much into 3 games as a SSS, but it also isn't great to see the same old problems popping up no matter how much we grind this roster. It's still a pretty talentless roster as a whole, but there are things they can control that don't seem to be improving. Still waiting to see some baseball IQ as a unit.

they need a veteran leader who's actually been good throughout his career, ala Paulie/Buehrle, hoping Mune will be that guy because these kids don't have anyone to follow on this roster, it sure as hell isn't Andrew Benintendi

after we win the world series we can trade all of our players though and get a top 10 farm system

We tried that second part already.

Are the Brewers good, or are the Sox just that bad?

well at least we get to lose to the 6-0 marlins

their GM in year 2 brought them close to .500 last year in a tough division (our in resident Getz apologist will probably chime in with excuses) but you are what your record is. This is a failed farm director that got promoted.

Yes

Because they faced a minor league team to start their season.

I turned it off when it was 7-2 thinking they had it. I got a notice they scored then turned it back on to see bases loaded with 1 out and was like oh boy here we go.

Sorry, meant Chourio is a stud

Point is not that the Sox should have shut them out. But that inning was propelled by a 50/50 ground ball single followed shortly by an infield single, followed not long after by a bloop single with the bases loaded. Ideally you get some of the other guys out instead, but that sequence of events doesn't normally earn you a 6-run inning. Then you can look backwards and see Sox barreling two outs that could have been home runs with just about anything else being different (park, weather, ball-to-ball variation, etc.). Even earlier in the game, Sox had a sequence of a walk to the 9 hitter followed by 4 batters in a row squaring it up but only got a single run out of it.

You can make your own luck to an extent but sometimes things just do or don't line up for you. Overall I liked seeing some life from the bats today and I don't think the Sox will give up too many 6-inning 8th/9th innings going forward. And I was always going to feel a little worried about smaller leads. To me the goal this season is the same as the last: figure out who is part of the core. There have been some interesting data points throughout the series. I think the best player in the organization is on the IL though.

Defensive positioning is an important past of baseball situations as well. I have no idea how the Sox stack up in this regard compared to other teams, I don't know if there is a metric for something like this, but that also can be a factor.

I appreciate what you are saying but to me it rings hollow. This organization seems to have terrible "luck" in a lot of areas and I'm sorry that's letting people off the hook.

At some point you are what your record says you are. And at least the last decade (although I go back to 2007) the Sox have basically been atrocious.

That's not all "luck."

Somebody just said above - no, they're not that great a team on paper, but they find ways to win. The first two games were insane the way everybody was getting a hit, then stealing bases. Every time I checked in on the game today, they had a guy on 2nd.

Could feel this loss coming on from the middle innings...

But MIL with 97 wins didn't have a four plus run rally last year until well into August fwiw.

What drives me nuts is why isn’t Taylor being developed as the closer. We all know he’s never going to be a starter.

Giolito is still available and has familiarity with Reese. Make it fucking happen but you know it won't.

Yes, Colson, Mune, Meidroth are all AAAA players. Good job.

I fell asleep on my couch and woke up for the 8th inning. 🤮

A good reminder that the White Sox are not rebuilding, they're just bad. There's no contending core coming together.

He’s a big time union guy. Jerry won’t want that influence on his young players.

Pitching sucks. Period.

Two questions-

Why is the audio so bad?

Why does Chuck Garfien always sound like he’s pushing out a hard s%*# while he’s talking?

I thought I read during spring training where he said he hoped to still start someday.

It's really since 2012. 08/10/12 all solid/entertaining seasons compared to this crap.

Then 2020-21.

One temporary blip up.

Three players does not make a good team. On they whole, we stinks.
