Saturday at 06:07 PM4 days Stinks - hope he can recover quick and put this behind him and get back to crushing asap. In meantime, next guy up. Would be nice to see Colson go on a heater here along with Jacob coming up and showing us he’s a dude.
Saturday at 06:07 PM4 days Author 4 to 6 weeks… OUCH. So it turned out to be a legit grade 1 tear, I suppose. Weak boner.
Saturday at 06:16 PM4 days Author Damn! Stone just said it’s grade 2. I’ll be shocked if he is back in 4 to 6 weeks and am surprised it’s that bad based on Mune’s reaction.
Saturday at 06:18 PM4 days Good. Only 4 to 6 weeks. Next man up and pick him up while hes gone. Lets go.
Saturday at 08:03 PM4 days Mune's absence during June and July could really upset the season in terms of wins, and if things go South, in attendance and fan interest. Every player and pitcher needs to step it up. There is enough talent to hang in there until Mune comes back.

Saturday at 09:16 PM4 days Just doing some quick napkin math if we take the middle of 4-6 weeks that puts him returning ~30 games from now. Sox record if we play:.534 = 47-41 (current pace).500 = 46-42.465 = 45-43.430 = 44-44.400 = 43-45.375 = 42-46 (~2025 pace).333 = 41-47Even if the Sox suddenly became the worst team in baseball - Rockies .362 or Tigers .373 would still be within striking distance of .500 when he's back.
Saturday at 09:21 PM4 days Let's not rush him back. Let's make sure he's fully recovered. We can't afford to have him reinjure it and miss out on playoff time.
Saturday at 09:28 PM4 days I did find this quote from Getz to the Sun-Times interesting. Not sure what it means in connection with Teel who may be farther away than first thought, unless he thinks Murakami is going to heel quicker?“But you figure it out. It’s like, all right, we’ll get him back. I think we’ll get him back right around [the return of catcher] Kyle Teel. Hopefully, we’ll stay afloat and keep this interesting."If they are saying it will be 4-6 weeks with him and Getz is saying his return could line up with Teel that would meen Teel won't be back until July around the All-Star break.

I’m sure there were more but the first guy I remember having hamstring issues with the Sox was Chet Lemon around 1976.My best friend's mom worked at a Travel Agency, during the winter Glenn Beckert worker there also. Players had to get jobs in the off season. It would not be unusual for players selling shoes at Thom McAn (not Al Bundy ) ) or working at a factory.Plus, baseball players back in the day never weight trained. They were told not to lift weights because it would make them muscle bound and restrict their flexibility.Mighty Mite I know you you know all this but any younger fan might not. Looking at possible outfielders I think Antonacci, Benintendi, and Peters are locks with Venable, they are all lefthanded hitters. I know the fans would like Benny gone but right now I don't think that will happen. I didn't think a former Savanah Banana would be a roster lock either but he has earned it. Who do you think gets added and removed to the 26 once they come off the injury list? Edited Monday at 12:10 PM3 days by Falstaff

The wrong weight training can cause cramping in the upper thigh. Stretching is the key. On off season jobs, Cubs OF George Altman once substitute taught for me when I was out for a day.

Who do you think gets added and removed to the 26 once they come off the injury list?It all depends on the order guys come off the IL and queue up for promotion. On the IL you have Teel, Mune, Pereira and Hays. LHH IF/LF Mario Camilleti is raking at AAA and B. Monty looks comfortable there. And on the 40-man, you have RHH OF Junior Perez. The situation right in front of them is that Derek Hill seems to be a bit hobbled. If he's not 100%, he could be an easy IL move to get Hays back on the roster when he's ready. Kicks the can down the road for a week and a half. Grickuk's lightening is still in the bottle, and Acuña was kind of the centerpiece of the Robert return, so neither's an easy DFA. The next conundrum could be if Pereira is ready to come back at the same time Hill's healed up. If they do move Hill to the IL, nothing else needs to happen until 6/12. By then, Beni could have fallen back off the table, or Rikuu could start to look horribly overmatched.
Monday at 04:09 PM2 days Such an inopportune time for Murakami to be out, with the Phillies, Braves, Dodgers, & Yankees coming..

Last I heard regarding Teel was that he was starting a running program on the day you posted this. Bizarre.
Monday at 09:04 PM2 days The Sox say Hays still has soreness in his calf and his rehab has been paused. As a middle age dude that strains a calf at least once a year doing something I feel his pain. Takes forever to heal and gotta baby it. Similar to hamstring.
Monday at 09:56 PM2 days They're going to miss him in the dugout I'm sure, but worth it if it gets him back on the field any sooner.
