It had to end. This game was a coin flip. Lots of single plays that could have turned it one way or another. A lot of offense from the guys which is the only thing that matters much. A bunch of old men gave up runs, who cares. Play on a regulation ballfield and the Sox would have won by a couple runs in regulation. They could have won in other ways too...although they could have lost in a lot of other ways.

I’ll give Will the benefit of the doubt and assume he’s trying to be sure we have arms available against a more important CLE opponent tomorrow. Huddy and Hicks both threw <20 tonight. We couldn’t afford to sacrifice a game against CLE for a win against BOS.

Other teams have struggled in this area. The D'Backs has this issue last year and MCann was playing AA, It worked out for them.
