8/6 Gamethread: White Sox (Castillo) @ Red Sox (Suarez) - 8:10 PM ADT

Great game but tough way to lose it after we had like 8 different chances to end it.

Get back on the horse tomorrow.

Boston, just like the last series against them, is the hottest team in baseball. Their pitching has been incredible and they’re seemingly squaring up anything thrown at them. That’s a tough team to be

By my count, Sox are 14-12 in their last 26. 0-5 vs. Boston, 14-7 vs. everyone else. Would have been nice to have caught them in May or June.

  • Would be absolutely hilarious if they pull off this game and twins and guardians lose again, and the Sox gain another game after getting smacked around by Boston

That Murphy wild pitch didn't help. Plenty of blame to go around...with coaching and managing as the biggest culprits.

Absolutely

Would love to see that game simulated a thousand times - bet we would win it 65+% of the time.

Sure, if that’s what you think…

I’ll give Will the benefit of the doubt and assume he’s trying to be sure we have arms available against a more important CLE opponent tomorrow. Huddy and Hicks both threw <20 tonight. We couldn’t afford to sacrifice a game against CLE for a win against BOS.

Winning the game tonight should be more important than saving guys for tomorrow. Especially a game Schultz is starting where Fedde could be used anywhere between 2-4 innings just to eat after being down bad.

Couldn’t will that one into existence no matter how hard I tried. What an insane game.

Really really hard to beat a hot team when you give them three extra outs… and we came within 1 strike of doing just that.

Even though I hate this outcome, I love baseball and I love our ChiSox.

Use it as fuel to go sweep Cleveland and turn the corner into a nice winning streak.

I agree, hi8is. Sure, we lost, but we still didn't lose any ground, and for cryin' out loud, how can we not give this bunch a ton of r-e-s-p-e-c-t for battling the way they did? We should be proud of them.

You will have everyone available tomorrow except Taylor.

You need 5 good innings from schultz

Sox can’t hang with this team. Not a surprise. They have twice the payroll and a much better front office. It is what it is.

We could compete if we had Cease, Crochet and Sale back. We don’t have the pitching or the manager to compete with Boston.

Boston gifted us a bunch of runs with stupid mistakes. This was a game we definitely should have won.

We made a bunch of horrible plays too.

You guys know that Cleveland just got the crap beat out of them by the godawful Mets, right? I expect a hangover tomorrow for the Sox, might drop that one but this is by no means an impossible task to win at least 2 from them at home.

Went cheap and got a crappy player in Bart. Just cause he was better than Quero and Romo doesn’t mean much.

Well, I don't think most fans wanted to trade Carlson, Bonemer, Hagen Smith and others for Adley, or even Stephenson. Prices were high. Weird that prices weren't high when we were trading Eloy.

Time to call up Quero and Haase. Start anew.

Nah bro, they are the hottest team in baseball and for a good while now. They're not a fluke. They're the dark horse favorite in my opinion to win the AL pennant

Tell @Jake that.

That stupid send from 3rd base was so bad with the meat of the order up. Boston is on fire - learn from this.

Every so often, a team gets hot at the right time, that's this BoSox team. Don't know if they have the firepower to beat LA in the WS but I can easily see them being the AL champs. I don't want to see them again this season, hard pass bro

Fedde was doing good as a starter. Not quite sure why they decided to put him in the bullpen. Nothing this week made sense, as Getz really put this team in a bad position .

That's why I gave the trades a C - . However tough team after the TDL so I didn't expect it to look great right away. We'll see how it plays out.

Played the Red Sox 6 games in the middle of the biggest hot streak in their history.

Why the hell did Romo keep calling breaking pitches when it was obvious he couldn't throw them?

Honestly at this point u have to bite the bullet and bring up Quero and Hasse tomorrow

You can't keep running Romo out there

I was okay with Bart but unfortunately he died so the Sox will have to move onto the next thing

Coaching decisions continue to hurt this team too often

Why was this not a day game on getaway day? Does Boston always do this? This long game and bullpen use will be felt in the Cleveland series.

Pulling Castillo after 4 was his biggest mistake.

Then pulling Hicks with 2 outs for Taylor in the 6th was bad too. It's obvious he over manages. This game was lost because of Will, vages and mune in that order. f*** Boston too!

Were you excited to give of Bonemer or McDougal for Stephenson?

What coaching decisions? Venable managed this game into the 13th inning. The Red Sox are just a better team on a fucking roll. Cut the BS!!

Considering the pitching matchup tomorrow plus what happened tonight it will be a minor miracle if we win
