Gonna be there all three. I get fired up for this series. I hate the Cubs. Our teams play the same sport--in the same league--in the same city. As far as I'm concerned if you grew up here and that

6:40 starts and the pitch clock means weeknight games end at like 9:15 now. 7:11 starts and no pitch clock, games ended close to 11 PM. Much prefer the current format. Now I have time to watch the gam

  • I've done some reflection on my hatred of the Cubs because a lot of normal people don't get it. What I've realized is I hate their fans specifically, lol. This is not something that makes more sense t

Well, if Sox go on to miss the postseason, their fans will say it was cause of them (like Sox did with Caruso).

Or the Red Sox

Sox have higher OPS against LHP by like just .07 - .08 points.

Pretty similar.

Guess it depends if you want to see more Acuna or Colson.

I’m aware, but I also think they’re a better team with Peters in the lineup than Doyle, Braden is way better vs RHP and no Acuna. Sox are going to need some power by Colson against RHP down the stretch. 5-9 in order today was predictably bad.

Except Doyle does have that equalizing arm in CF.

Doyle also would not have bobbled that ball in CF as Peters did, that allowed the Cubs run to score.

Tough one, Sox hung in there.

That was his biggest f*** up. You got a challenge in the 9th, fucking use it. Quero at least did that part right.

Rogers is also a black hole in the lineup just when Edgar was showing some life.....over general managing anyone? Rogers has been on 4 teams in 21 days for a reason.

Robot umps and this is a win.

Seems like the Sox shot themselves in the foot last night. They needed that one. They ain't winning with Fedde or Urquidy. Hope I'm wrong but I think they get swept.

Great game, terrible outcome. We've won some like that and lost some like that. Good training for that playoff atmosphere.

That may be the worst possible scenario with that unlikable, but loved by Cubby blue, prick walking you off. My condolences to any Sox fan in attendance at the end of that one.

I was watching the 9th on gameday and you can't walk guys but damn that home plate ump really changed the game. I would hope MLB looks at that and does not reward that clown with any playoff games.

Sox fought back as usual which is great to see. They are just really bad in extra innings. Have to find a way to win one of these next two or im afraid people are going back on the ledge.

Keep the faith

Did Roger’s make any type of statement as to why he failed to challenge. Does he get a free pass?

One thing's for sure-- the guys lost that one as a team. And on this glorious brand new day they will WIN as a team! Let's go!

It's honestly kind of encouraging that:

1) The Sox were not good at the plate.

2) Their defense was putrid.

3) They got screwed by the ump.

4) The game was poorly managed.

5) Players continue to suck at challenging.

6) Cubs got a ton of lucky ass hits.

And... they still went to extra innings.

Go win the next two.

Should have been a 5-4 win if Vargas eats it at 3B instead of throwing the ball into RF

Should have been a win if the umpire could just call balls and strikes properly.

You can say that about just about every game for any team really. But can't count on the ump. Error lead to an unearned run.

Or Rogers challenges the one that was clearly a strike. Instead he challenges a borderline pitch, loses and can't challenge the other one that would have been strike 3.

Also, Sam needs to stop wasting challenges early in the game.

Here is the current OPS vs LHP for the 5 outfield options if Grichuk is at DH:

.595 (SA), .621 (BD), .524 (BM), .497 (LA), .383 (TP)

This is a giant reason for their struggles in the second half against LHP

Benintendi is up to .250 and he is now at 62 RBI this year. But with the L/R swaps he as over 100 less plate appearances but has less than 10 RBI than Vargas the leader. Maybe give him some Lefty spots as well to see how he does against some the left side.
