I know in baseball you can't win em all and the Sox played terrible and still could've won because pitching stepped up tonight but my biggest concern is managing. Will didn't make the moves to put his players in the best position to win. Also, he's way too vanilla, that bad call by the umps was a key moment to set up their two runs and Altuve, the known cheater that he is, wasn't hit by the pitch and Will didn't even bother himself to go argue for his players. I get Will is also a young manager and might learn to be a better in game manager but so far the Sox have been winning in spite of him in my opinion.

Will is still amateur hour with his baseball decisions continually, not pinch running Romo was absurd.

It also pisses me off that we let Nelson Velasquez basically decide 2 games this series. Need some better scouting to not let a bum like him keeping beating us. It's one thing if it's Yordan, it's another when it's a AAAA guy.

It’s simple, if he ran Acuna or Doyle and they didn’t score, then we would blame the players, not Venable. I would even excuse him for Newcomb over Davis.

I’ve always thought he was a good bat off the bench. He’s taken some of the best swings for the Astros.

The cubs arguably have the best offense in baseball. Those guys weren’t traded for. And for as bad as you think the Sox starting pitch situation was at the deadline, there’s was much worse. Also the cubs have played quite poorly here lately. They’ve actually lost ground to both the Brewers and Phillies.

The fact that they didn't even bother to argue the double play when Antonacci got called for the same thing earlier in the season didn't sit right with me. You've seen it called against you before, don't just sit there and take it.

Will got caught not paying attention in the first game. That can’t happen. I watched a game today with a similar inside pitch that hit the knob, and the umpire immediately put his hands up to signal foul ball. That didn’t happen on Monday.

This are the kind of losses I simply CANNOT tolerate.

If Martin came back and was rusty and didn't have it and they lose 6-2 or something like that? It sucks, I hate it, but it is what it is.

But Martin had an absolute master class performance on the mound. He completely suffocated Houston's bats. And how does the offense reciprocate? They play the whole game with their thumbs up their asses.

All of them owe Martin a massive apology. I hate losses, but I DESPISE losses when the starter was absolutely on one. Just a complete fucking waste.

LOL, Chuck is such a homer. Teams were trying to get Pham from the Phillies all season? Really, Chuck? So there was that much demand for Pham, yet the Sox managed to trade cash considerations for him AFTER the trade deadline? Okay…

When you have 20 bozos on an internet forum all saying the same thing and then not doing that thing costs you runs then maybe you did something wrong. It isn't about analytics, it is just common sense baseball that we have watched for years.

The Tigers really are about to get swept right before they play Cleveland. I guess they're at least equal opportunity when it comes to sucking against the Central.

The Phillies have had massive holes in their outfield against LHP. If they thought Pham had anything left, he would have been called up.

Per Venable, they discussed pinch running for Romo but decided against it because he is such a good baserunner and was catching a great game.

Are you serious? Doubt that analytics would have indicated not to pinch run for Romo tonight. Obsession over splits should not be automatic. You need to consider the quality of the players involved. You can’t pinch hit Doyle for Peters regardless, for example.
