Castillo’s splits for day games this season are pretty good at least.

Minnesota absolutely destroyed him earlier in the year too. So it shouldn't have been a surprise how bad he was in his last outing.

Very quick counting shows that he’s given up 31 ER in 33 innings against teams the Sox could play in the postseason. The whole thing is crazy.

Sox have lost the season series vs nearly every AL Playoff team (NYY, BOS, TB, HOU, BAL). The only teams they have a winning record against who might make the playoffs are CLE (6-4), TEX and TOR and they still have 3 more games vs CLE

Yes, they are all swinging for the fences . I heard their hitting coach, during an in-game interview, say that is what he wants them to do . that philosophy is ok when you make contact, but not good when you miss as much as they do.

Last year at the end of September, the White Sox had the worst record in the AL Actually they had 10 more losses than the next worse team. Now on 9/3, the White Sox have the 4th best record in the AL. Yes the Central division is weak but they have at least gone from being a AAA equivalent team to a chance to win their division. But posters today our complaining about Venable and Getz.

They did not pour money in to this franchise to get it to go from 102 losses to 7 games over .500 today. They found new talent via trades or draft picks which has at least turned this team within one season. Yet fans are complaining more about Getz and Venable instead of complaining about Jerry Reinsdorf.

The White Sox payroll is currently ranked 14th out of 15th in the AL. From last season to today I think this team has had a major turn around despite the lack of funding that Jerry gave to the team.

Martin looked excellent and if he can pitch like that the rest of the season, it will take care of some the pitching issues.

The Sox couldn't touch Wesneski's sweeper. That was by far the best sweeper I have seen go up against the Sox all year.

Braden smokes a line drive that Altuve leaps up and catches, then Altuve drops Chase's liner and gets a double play. Sometimes it just isn't your night.

Cleveland is still roughly $30 million behind...let's call it $25 million after their deadline moves.

Also, did you watch the 8th inning last night?

The team would be in much better shape had they done nothing and just stood pat...instead of a weak and tepid series of half measures.

The problem wasn't the decision, it's that he hesitated and made it an easy play at the plate. If he is going to go on contact, he has to be all in. Once he hesitated and drew the SS's attention, he needed to go back. He could have even deked to try to draw a throw and gone back, but he can't be out there in no mans land on a play like that.
