Bad call. Should have challenged but its easy to say for us knowing the strike zone.

Jesus christ

Why do the C get a Greenlight to challenge but not the hitters. That was clearly outside.

And why the fk did we start Pham who’s batted .100 this year.

Hitters afraid to challenge because of Mune and Sam

Why are you chatting with the ump about it and not using your challenge??

Gotta challenge that

They are probably being fined if they challenge early And lose.

I don't know what it is really but right-handers really struggle against Messick's 4-seamer. Not just the Sox hitters. It's got good velo and shape, but nothing spectacular. Something about his delivery or pitch mix must make it really play up.

So we sit our left-handed hitting spark plug for right handed Pham.

I wonder if the White Sox have challenge rules in the playoffs. Seems like he knew that was a ball.

Challenge that s%*#

Grich was too selfless there. The ol’ 5 ball strikeout. Let’s go Hagen, keep it pumping baby! Give us a complete game shutout. 😆🔥🧦⚾️

That for sure should have been challenged.

Yeah I don't understand why we're playing so many righties when he has reverse splits. Grichuk should play, but I don't know about Pham and Doyle.

Apparently we left the offense in Houston

Cuz he is Venable’s BFF.

Not a strike why not challenge

If we aren’t challenging those we in for a long day and we aren’t gonna hit this dude at all

Are you familiar with Messick? He’s a hoss.

The fat ass walking off confidently as if it were a strike

CLE has much better pitching

It would never happen but it would be nice to see a real pitchers duel with both pitchers with complete games and the Sox winning 1-0.

His xStats show conventional splits. And if teams batted their lefties against him his splits would look even more normal in all likelihood.

That’s why we need full time abs. That call was the difference between a runner on 1st extending the inning with our best hitter coming to the plate and ending the inning. Smart teams aren’t going to risk losing a ABS challenge on a close call in the early innings in the postseason.

Sure Vargas could have gotten out in the next AB, but he also could’ve homered and made it a 2-0 game which is huge in this series.

Weird route but got the job done.

I suspect there's some directive to conserve challenges for the defense early in these games, at least when there's no one on
