This series is far from over and I hope the Sox understand this. No guarantees even up 2-0.

I am concerned about the pitching matchup for game 4 and possibly for game 5. We don't have two TOR starters and a lot of our bullpen arms are toast.

On the bright side of things...they have their key bullpen pieces fresh, some balls should bounce their way tomorrow and cade pitched 2 innings so hopefully his arm falls off if needed. Go get em again boys...

It is now a series where the next two games are much easier for Guardians to win because of their starting pitching while our pitching continues to be a grab-bag.

Absolutely correct.

How is it absolutely correct after the Sox won the two games those dweebs pitched in?

The amount of pressure this team will have to win tomorrow at home, I got to hope they can play loose. The pitching were playing too scared and walking too many guys, offense was pressing and striking out too many times. Still had our chances though, we have to put pressure on Messick and make him work with runners on and get him out early

I'm guessing that is going to play a part in things.

Big crowd desperate to see them close this out has got to make an impact on the players considering most of them have never been in this position before.

People care way too much about starting pitching now

As bad as the Sox played, it was only 5-3 going into the 8th, and 4 runs by CLE squarely on Venable's decision to put Hudson in whom we all seen has struggled for a while now.

How many walks for CLE? Double digits on walks, right?

10 walks, 5 of them scored. Literally just don't do that again.

damn, we got cooked. listened to some of the game on the radio but I had a feeling this wasn't a game I wanted to watch.

Because pitching wins pennants and if you are Cleveland you have to feel pretty good about having a pair of top guys available where the Sox as stated don't.

I know if I was managing the Sox I'd love to have two guys of that caliber ready to go.

Doesn't mean Cleveland will win but anybody who thinks this series is over is not looking at reality.

Baseball isn't logical, if it were, Messick and Williams would've got them their wins in CLE and this game would've been our best shot at beating them. Messick can go a strong 6 as well as get knocked out in the 3rd, you never know even when you think you do, it's why we love this game, it can be infuriating too lol

Yeah, don't have an approach like they did tonight and they have these guys out by the 4th or 5th. And also hope they don't get their bullshit lucky hits after you walk them. So, stop walking them.

Exactly, challenge them, make them hit their way on.

The bottom of their order will just take pitches if you show them that you can't throw strikes. It's exactly what happened to Hudson today. He didn't have his command, Guardians saw it, and just took pitches until he proved that he can get the ball over the plate.

But the probability that that will happen again to those two pitchers is low.

Sox have shown the ability to comeback from horrible games all season, don't stop believing 💪

The guys who can go three times though a lineup and give you 6 or 7 innings are super high impact, but SPs even one tier down are getting pulled at the first threat in the 4th or 5th.

Messick went 4.1 IP on 87 pitches and took the L, Williams racked up 11K but still couldn't get a 16th out. Trade deadline reinforcement Griffin went 2.2 behind an opener.

Put together good ABs and make Vogt's choices hard.

If you want to think like a loser, sure.

I feel sad

Soyou got to go with Fedde. Who would haver thought that we would be in the second round of the playoffs in a huge close out game and Erick Fedde is our starter? And I feel good about him shutting them down for 4 or 5.

If all 3 of these series close out then we will be the prime time game

I'd be surprised if that happened. Doesn't seem like Venable's track record.

Only Tampa matters

It will be Hagen or Newcomb opening IMO
