I also just saw Terminator Salvation yesterday. Was pleasantly surprised.

You are the first I have heard say this. Massive disappointment seems to be the theme I have been seeing

Probably the difference between shelling out at the theater or seeing is at home for almost nothing. I have yet to see it because the fan reception was so bad, but I'm a fan of the franchise and now I'll finally get around to seeing it with tempered expectations.

Supposed to see Avatar in Imax today, but I really would rather just lay around all day and do nothing.

I've been waiting for someone on Soxtalk to post their review of Avatar. I probably don't know of one person that has seen it.

Although I love IMDB and new releases -- it's secretive voting system has Avatar as the 25th greatest movie of all-time.

Balta, curious to hear what you thought about Star Trek, by the way. I know you tortured yourself and waited til you finished your dissertation to watch it.

Was it worth the wait?

I thoroughly enjoyed it, and yeah, I'm glad I waited until I finished that up before doing so. Was a nice reward/motivation.

I think maybe I am just a really poor critic when it comes to action films.

On another note, did anyone see the movie "Children of Men"?

I saw it maybe two years ago and thought it was atrociously terrible. Then I am reading Rolling Stone magazine and Peter Travers calls it the 2nd best movie of the decade.

Odd.

I've only heard of 3 people not ever liking "Children of Men" including myself. (Yes, the other 2 are iamshack & KyYle)

Everyone I know raves about this film.

I watched it with two of my buddies, and we all thought it was dreadful. Not as bad as "The Fountain," but dreadful.

They just don't make movies like they used to... it's that simple.

Well, I can see how the critics can love There Will Be Blood and No Country for Old Men, but Children of Men was just completely lame. The only thing I liked about it was Michael Caine and his secret weed factory.

Add me to that list. I was bored through the whole thing.

I've seriously only heard of maybe 2 of the movies on either list.

I was pretty impressed by Avatar in 3D. It plays better in the theatre than in trailers on tv and the computer. Visuals were great. Story was a little bit hamfisted, but still a great movie experience.

^^^^

I absolutely loved this movie. I saw it in IMAX 3d and the visuals were just unbelievable.

Avatar was awesome and I don't watch animation type movies which is why it took me a while to get into it, but when the movie ended I still wanted to watch more!! haha. James Cameron did a wonderful job.
