I would not send him out there.  2-13 w/RISP, 10 left.  Get cute, this is the kind of game that would really sting.

Even when Gio was bad last year. He always had a knack for using the high fastball as a K pitch. It's one of the reasons why I always despised those saying he's a headcase. It was always apparent he had a good idea how to pitch , he just couldn't throw it where he wanted due to being unable to control his long limbs with any consistency.

This. So much this. His change and slider are great pitches as well and his curve has morphed from bad to OK.

Giolito a top five pitcher in the AL ( along with 2 other Sox alums Sale and Montas) just about a third of the way through 2019.

How great would it be if GIo got an actual CG here, the game right after ending the Sox no CG streak with that 5 inning cheapy

Giolito staying in

I agree with this, but if he allows a baserunner, pull him.

Well Gio is coming out for the 9th so I hope your right about leaving him in.  Four runs is not insurmountable so I hope Ricky doesn't go beyond one runner.

I'm cool either way, but I would have pulled him.

Sox are going to have multiple all star snubs. Not complaining.

They have 5, maybe 6 guys who are in that ballpark.
