And to add to it, since their last original cd was Battle of LA towards the end of '99, i dont think they can be included in the group as 'surviving'. The only post 2000 cd released was the Renegades Cover cd, and a Live cd. Of course, they broke up and are now back together, and hopefully they do release that rumored cd of new material one of these days. But looks like we agree, they are the most talented of that genre but my main point was that they haven't released anything new, which is why they shouldn't be included on the list. Anyway, I saw them last August at Alpine Valley, and holy crap, are they amazing live. I've been to many concerts in my life, and I've seen some great shows, but that one topped them all. There is a song by Billy Bob Thornton (and I assume his band, The Box Masters) called The Wind. It is a song that was written by Warren Zevon, but never recorded. There was a tribute CD made for Zevon after he died, and a bunch of different singers and bands covered his songs. That was one of them, and it's really good, IMO. It'd probably be up the alley of the classic rock guys. It's slow, but if you can download it or something, I'd go for it.
