This is a unique offseason. The White Sox did a fantastic job loading up the system. But by all means, it should not stop now. I know we want to see the first wave of young talent develop this year on the main roster: (Gioloto, Lopez, Fulmer, Moncada and yes even Anderson). But that next wave of prospects are not as close to contributing in 2018. Guys like Kopech, Hansen, Dunning, Jimenez and Rutherford are still a few years away. Until they get to that point and begin calling guys up, Hahn needs to what he has with veterans on the main roster. Guys like Avi, Davidson, Sanchez & Delmonico will have another full season proving their worth, but are they apart of the future contending team? Hahn needs to figure out what to do with players like this. Not only that, I would like to add more players like this in 2018 though free agency. The bullpen needs a complete makeover, their is still a gaping hole in CF, the C position can use a veteran and with Rodon being out, there is still room for a SP or 2. Hahn can easily add 7-8 veterans this winter through free agency with the hope of flipping them at the deadline for more prospect depth. Personally, I do not feel that Avi will be apart of the contending team. Hahn has the potential of selling pretty high this winter. He can also bet on Avi having a repeat type performance and possibly get a juicier package at the 2018 trade deadline.... regardless of what he decides to do this winter-- i am VERY interested. This team is headed in the right direction and I cannot wait for the future!!

I think you're dramatically underestimating how soon these guys will arrive. Kopech and Jiminez are likely to be up this year, IMO. We should even be thinking about where they are going to play - Kopech taking Shields's spot, avoid signing a big money corner OF unless he's tradeable for exactly that reason. Hansen I wouldn't even be surprised if they wound up approaching September callup thinking with him if he pulls off a full year at AA/AAA - I think he's a surprisingly early 2019 arrival.

This is still the White Sox. These guys are going to be pushed upwards aggressively. Jiminez and Kopech may well even deserve it by midseason. With a good first half you might even see guys you aren't thinking about make their debuts.

Hahn did say he will give these players as much time as possible. Now if they do force the issue, I would love to see them up here! But do you think that happens before September? I can see Kopech and Jimenez as being call ups then. Guys like Hansen and Dunning seem more like 2019 call ups or early add-ons for the 2019 season. For 2018, the #1 goal should be prospect development/ acquire more prospects through the trades of veterans. Sign as many 'buy-low' guys as they can and flip them. This will likely be the last year of the 'flipping' process before they give they give all of these kids a chance at this thing.

I'd be shocked if Kopech isn't up by mid season and I'm guessing Eloy is up before September as well. Hansen I can definitely see being a September call up too.

Yep, no chance Kopech & Eloy stay down much longer than the extra-year-of-control-cutoff point if they both stay on pace from where they ended this year.

If we want any chance of competing in 2019, we need to give some legitimate development time at the major league level next year to Kopech & Jimenes. I think if all goes well Kopech is up by the end of May & Jimenez by mid July. Hansen also has a good chance of reaching the majors before year-end.
