  1. Past hour

  2. Alex Call getting lots of trade interest apparently...
  3. Bingo. The sky is not falling.
  4. I don’t know about his pitch selection as a catcher but at the plate, Smith is an incredibly smart hitter with a good plan up there. A 200 WRC+ doesn’t happen by accident.
  5. By that logic, every team is thinking that because nothing has happened.
  6. Stop that. I want to be pissed with all the other humbugs still.
  7. Where do you live, brah?
  8. Hicks throws 12 innings TODAY and we lose.
  9. It’s too early. We won’t see the flood trickle until tomorrow and the gates burst open until Monday. The Sox will be getting pitching, a catcher, and maybe more.
  10. MLB Trade RumorsSeveral Teams Showing Interest In Casey MizeAll the focus is on Tarik Skubal, but the Tigers have more than one big starter to shop. MLB Trade Rumors breaks down Casey Mize's market.
  11. I think Getz might be thinking the prices are way too high for even rentals, if that's the case I'm good with saving the farm
  12. Unless he is writing a check for half a billion to him, that would be a genuinely terrible idea.
  13. A couple more today would be nice to add to the list.
  14. Fun fact: Hicks had a 2.33 ERA through his first 11 starts with the Giants in 2024. I remember the discourse about how smart SF was to take the chance at converting him to starter.
  15. If someone has to be sacrificed, it may as well be Ron. Then we can officially retire that awful Chairman of the Board nickname.
  16. I may have already written this in this thread, but he didn't even call pitchers in that one year of primary catching in college. So he's having to learn that on the fly. When he was talking about pitch calling/sequencing in an interview I heard, he really gave the impression that he knew next to nothing about it. Almost gives an insight into his hitting that he's up there with an empty head just hacking at whatever looks right (might be more gift than curse, TBH)

  18. The most significant development relating to the Sox playoff chances as of late is the Red Sox surge. Made it far less likely that the AL Central runner-up can back into the playoffs with ~.500 record. Right when the models would grudgingly accept the Sox are not going to lose 95 games, the Red Sox asserted themselves as another likely playoff team which means Our Sox have to actually have a good season to get in.
  19. Ok I’m watching the replay and Colson just hit it out, and it hit the hanging catwalk like Thomas did back in the day. I’m pretty sure Thome hit a home run off his own face on the Jumbotron in right field. Konerko got his inside the park homer here. I think Dye might have hit the catwalk too. The Sox have a lot of quirky home runs in this park lol
