2027 Offense
The Sox aren't going to publicly express concern about Colson or Murakami failures in the 2nd half when they each batted around .160 (Mune Aug-Sept). Both had very little to do with the Sox 2nd half success; they were just along for the ride. We all know this, except you, including the White Sox. They'll attempt to improve both in the offseason or will eventually let them go or minors for Colson before the end of the 2027 season. Colson might not even make it out of spring training. Mune will because of his contract even if he's still not hitting. Hilarious that you single out Braden as a non-threat who hit roughly 50 pts higher than Colson & Mune "down the stretch". Sub .200 hitters seldom contribute to a championship and are rarely even on a successful postseason team. Hopefully they won't make the same mistake with Bonemer (or others) that they did with Colson and rush him to the majors before he deserves it. And hopefully both Colson's & Mune's careers have not been ruined and are recoverable. No, you add good pitching before you retain sub .200 hitters. Unreal that you think the opposite is a better solution that does not "provide the most opportunities to score runs". Too funny!

Schriffen: "It's been an amazing three years". Implies that them calling Sox games together is over. Could Stone be on his way out?
I’m good with it. He’s probably in the Epstein files I don’t see it as a “baseball” problem. More like an “assclown” problem.

So John decided to so some UFC s%*# instead of showing up for the last series of the year? Speaks to two things: 1) The Sox are cheap 2) John is the sort of "talent" they attract. Time to change things up.

“The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
That one takes the cake, though I’m a fan of this one: Ah yes, the erroneous and biased information that we’re spreading by quoting Crain’s articles.

Holy hell, I didn't know that was his injury. When I had that happen to me in college, it was like I lost all strength in my arm.

This Day In Sox History 10/16...
Two factoids today: October 16, 1952 - The Sox sent infielder Willie Miranda to the St. Louis Browns in a trade. So what? Well, consider this; it marked the third time in four months that he was dealt between the two clubs! Miranda was traded to the Browns on June 15… 13 days later the Sox re-acquired him and finally on this date they sent him back. The entire situation developed like this. He was traded along with Al Zarilla to the Browns for Tom Wright and Leo Thomas on June 15. The Browns then waived him on June 28, the Sox claimed him and he returned. Then on October 16 he was sent back to St. Louis along with Hank Edwards for Joe DeMaestri and Tommy Byrne. October 16, 2005 - The White Sox won their sixth league championship beating the Angels 6-3, taking the series 4-1. Jose Contreras fired the fourth consecutive complete game by the staff in the clinching game #5. The four consecutive post season complete games hadn’t been seen in Major League Baseball since the 1956 Yankees pulled it off. After losing the first game of the A.L.C.S. the Sox swept away Los Angeles. Paul Konerko was named the A.L.C.S. M.V.P. as he hit .286 with six hits, two home runs and seven RBI’s in the five-game series. The city of Chicago, especially on the South Side and in the South suburbs went wild as the nuclear scenario happened for Cub fans…. the Sox were in the World Series!

2027 Rotation
For now, what happens when they start playing again is anybody's guess. My guess is that even Getz will draw the line at throwing him out there and getting hammered game after game after game.

This will be the first time in 20 years that one (or in many years, two) of the 12 major markets teams won't be in the World Series. Back to the Cardinals vs. Tigers in 2006, and that was a different era where the revenue disparity between large and small markets wasn't nearly as big.

“The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
It sounds pretty impressive. Interesting that they're proposing a "lightweight fabric canopy" to provide shade to 65% of the seats. This could end up being a gem of a ballpark for the Royals.

OK, "Green Bay sucks" but congratulations to all Brewer fans and good luck against, probably the Guardians. That could be one helluva World Series.

That had to be the most ironic post of the year at Soxtalk. The amount of projection being made there is blinding.

“The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
This is a pretty detailed article about the Crain's discussion today from Block Club Chicago. Several interesting items that weren't mentioned in the Crain's article and it's worth a read even if you read the Crain's piece IMO. I found the following paragraph interesting. The extended Riverwalk proposal isn't new, but I hadn't heard about a High Line-like path to Lake Michigan. "His ideas include extending the Chicago Riverwalk south to Ping Tom Park in Chinatown and creating an elevated walking and biking trail inspired by New York’s High Line, connecting Ping Tom Park to Lake Michigan, although he did not provide specifics. He also wants a transit stop serving The Railyards and said Northwestern Medicine is interested in building there." Block Club ChicagoReinsdorf Will Make Final Call On White Sox Move, Not Me,...Justin Ishbia said any decision on the team's future is up to team chairman Jerry Reinsdorf and said Amtrak had to answer to the backlash over its plans to open a railyard near the current stadium.

“The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
The rank hatred for Reinsdorf seems to be based on the perception, over time, that JR is greedy. For me, I don't buy into the accusations of greed (especially because it could be an antisemitic trope) as much as his aloofness, inattentiveness, and at times bad judgment. There are countless examples of all of those negative traits. I also do not buy into any accusation that Reinsdorf has a flawed character. I do not know the man, but any portrayal of him as a wicked self-serving greedy SOB is contradicted by his philanthropy and his love for the White Sox. At times Jerry has let loyalty impact his judgment. Examples of that are too many to recount but his loyalty to Hahn and KW and to LaRussa were prime examples - things that really clouded his judgment and caused a lot of damage. Some of my best friends have a profound distaste and dislike of Reinsdorf so I am familiar with that. Now there appears to be a belief by some that anyone will be a better Chairman and steward of the White Sox. A lot of those opinions are based on projection of one more billionaire that none of us really know. My own opinion of Ishbia is based on what I believe are some short-sighted moves that reek of self-interest and personal profiteering. One example is pursuing a land swap for ISFA property for land he doesn't even own yet - a move that imposes on residents and businesses adjacent to the historic areas of Comiskey Park and Armour Park. Another is trying to foist an artistic rendering of "The Railyards" with numerous and obvious errors which appear to be driven by a condensed, self-imposed timetable, or worse. This is similar to and in some ways worse than what Einhorn Reinsdorf and Savarise did with the new Comiskey Park concept. The Railyards AI rendering is hot garbage. plain and simple.

Ashy is a starter and he pitches like Cannon. They retool him as a reliever and he's throwing 100. Do some of that, please.

“The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
Did you just tell someone to NOT MAKE THIS PERSONAL? You have been on here literally making up whatever self-serving garbage you want about Ishbia, and you have the nerve to talk about ANYONE making self-serving statements? You are right that it is not all about you, and it would be nice if you could bring that into your own posts, but of course you will not, and will be back to fiction writing.

Fire Derek Shomon
Isn't it obvious the Sox are analytics driven? The management has no problem with all the strikeouts. Our guys I bet are encouraged to lift and pull. If the result is a HR or K that's fine. Isn't modern analytics all or nothing. It cares little about batting average and it shows. What did 5 guys hit over .300. What a joke. With two strikes it should go back to age/old philosophy. Choke up like Pete Rose and smash a single or double. Or if choking up on the bat isn't cool nowadays at least switch your swing to make contact and rap a hit. Kudos to BananaMan Peters for that one at bat this year when he fouled off what 15 pitches? Analytics make me sick. Fergie Jenkins, LaMarr Hoyt, Bob Gibson would laugh at the five-inning wonders called 2026 starters. A joke.

“The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
Please don't try to make these issues personal and direct your ire toward me. At least understand that this is not all about you or me. Lies? The facts, as stated are that Ishbia does not own a majority interest in the White Sox and even if/when he would, the White Sox do not own Rate Field or the parking lots. Not sure why Ishbia would now claim that HE has been approached by developers. It seems like a self-serving statement without any sources to back him up or any way to contradict him - very trumpian as we have come to know. Yea, we have a deal...
-
Let's look at the bright side - the Sox are going to have an absolute STAR in Caleb Bonemer
then it will trigger the mental illness of trade frenzy........funny how that happens and we forget the Getz is the GM..........trade problems and inherit new ones, just add more to the list of they get better after leaving the Sox I guess guys who have less than 2 years experience in MLB are a finished product.
