  2. If Teel had been healthy all year it probably would have made quite a difference. Teel and Bart should be a pretty good tandem next year providing Teel’s injuries don’t have a lasting effect on him.
  3. Think he’s talking about more than the last 3 games.
  4. Yep, I've seen him on stream this week coaching against Kannapolis.
  5. Today

  6. Wikipedia says "In 2025, Mendick was hired as a coach for the Florida Complex League Rays, the rookie-level affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays.[24] In 2026, Mendick was hired as the manager of the Charleston RiverDogs, the Class A affiliate of the Rays" So presumably he does still exist!
  7. Romo haunts my dreams.
  8. "Mad Dog" Russo was outraged by the take and responded as such, saying that “this drove me nuts” and labeled it “derogatory.” “Hey Pete, you’re talking to me now about Ruth!” Russo said as he ran through Ruth’s historical numbers. “Nobody hit home runs like Babe Ruth. Say what you want about Ohtani, we understand that he’s a unicorn. Babe Ruth is so good it’s mindboggling. Did you know, Peter Crow-Armstrong, that Babe Ruth hit 27 home runs over 500 feet? Bonds? Never. Not one. … Ruth owned baseball, nobody hit home runs like Ruth! He out-homered leagues! To sit there and say they were pitching underhand, well why didn’t anybody else hit the home runs hitting underhand." nypost.com
  9. Tracy said that they would have used a position player to pitch the next inning.
  10. Agreed. And he would have been a good target if you don’t believe in Teel or Quero because he isn’t a free agent for 3 more seasons, but paying a prospect premium for any addition was never in Getz’s plans. It really wasn’t that bad of a thought though. Quero’s stock is so low right now we can’t even bank on him. And if you acquired Goodman, Teel could always be a 1B/DH, especially if Murakami leaves via free agency. But perhaps Goodman was never truly made available without a MASSIVE overpay. Sounds like the Yankees failed to land Goodman.
  11. I agree to some extent but in order to trade for a Hunter Goodman, you need to expend prospect capital. You don't sit on it, and that is what they did.
  12. I agree with you to some extent. The Brazoban and Bart trades were great for this playoff run and they didn’t cost anything. It sucks that Bart is already done for the season but s%*# happens. However, look at the two starters that the Cubs acquired. Both were rentals but they are both having great seasons. Meanwhile, Getz acquired a 5 ERA starter mainly because he was under control for one more year and his salary could be offset by Seranthony’s. Finally, Getz acquired a CF with a .570 OPS. These aren’t moves that a top team and competitor in baseball makes to win now. Getz made these moves because they were cheap and could fulfill half of his next offseason’s plans. Serious teams that want to win in the playoffs don’t make moves like this. The trade deadline is about acquiring the best performing rentals, not projects that have terrible stats.
  13. Historically, that has been the case, But I think we miss the point about what JR/Getz, et.al., needed to do to improve THIS team for THIS pennant run. The Sox needed/need a top of the line catcher like Hunter Goodman. They also needed a TOR starter and a lights out Closer. Unfortunately, Getz and the WSox announced that they would not be trading from from their top prospect pool, including Calab Bonemer. So they decided to stand pat and meanwhile try to create fancy dealsfor Bart and Castillo. twp players that were never going to be game changers. They hoisted the white flag,,,,again. OK The Sox saved prospect capital but they shouldn't have, not this year. This is the team and this was the season to go for it, it being however far they could go. Now 2027 season may not happen and the Sox may not be able to sign Murakami. And the core of this 2026 team might be whittled away with foolish trades, injuries, etc. They should have gone for it this season, There is nothing guaranteed about tomorrow in life or in sports.
  14. Go back and look at the thread. I graded the Sox trade deadline a C three days ago. And you graded it a C-, worse than me you steaming pile of smegma. So why don’t you guarantee what we all already know? You have no life outside of White Sox baseball. But I will entertain you — anything else, Cali-RonWillie-Jabroni? You’re so lame, to quote you. But let me add this — You are a worthless and pathetic crybaby fucking peon with zero going on in your life so you have to attack other posters on this site to get your jollies off. What a life…

  16. Well Stinky, you have also never faced the omniscient Thanos before, so good luck…
  17. If Cali had done any research and checked my posts he'd have seen that I'm not sold on Luis. Instead he only looked at the vote on trades. Incomplete research can be worse than none at all.
  18. Venable will continue to start Romo more though
  19. Well, hopefully they flame out before we have to face them again (if we get that far). I was watching this game on the BoSox feed and by listening to their commentators, I could hear that they also know they're on a crazy once in a lifetime run, they mentioned that this stretch of 31-5 run is now the best in BoSox history. And their a historic team so that's nothing to sneeze at...
  20. I need to channel your positivity. I don’t even have this much hope when I’m watching my own son’s football games. You must be the greatest dad ever.
  21. Time for Sox to go on a huge run!!!
  22. I know. Murphy would have to go down too but TS cant come up for him.
  23. Yes, I watched the game. The manager doesn't have a button of "does the other team score runs - YES/NO". He did what he had to do.
  24. Really need to win 2 of 3 this weekend
  25. Let's see what he does against the Royals.
