Detmers could be a guy whose emerged but giving up on a fully controlled guy with swing and miss stuff (albeit he has bust risk) just doesn’t make a lot of sense to me - especially knowing we have Smith and McDpugall hopefully on the way soon.

Hagen Smith straight up is as much as I’d offer and even that has some risk. I get Angels may not do that but it’s a high end arm for a solid pitcher with above average stuff closer to free agency…but he isn’t a top of the rotation guy and Smith could be.

Just 2 top 100 prospects for a guy who has never eclipsesd 3 fWAR at any point in his career.

Kay now has 93 IP, 60 IP more than his previous high in 2021. How many more innings does he have in him? Between he and Fedde's limited efficiency, so many pitches on their arms. Sox desperately need to acquire another starter if they want to ride this train into the playoffs. Both dudes have been tough as nails pros but how much will they have left come Sept?
