  1. Past hour
  2. Poles looks like he's taking it in. Warren oozes pick-me energy. Also, after Warren's Indiana bullshit, love Jaylon changing up Tremaine's "if you don't know, now you know" to "they KNOW. It's Chicago."
  3. Like I said I don’t want him…but depending on the prospect return it could be well worth it. It’s only a 1 year so the risk is pretty minimal. Castellanos has been at odds with Thompson/the Phillies for a couple of years. Who knows, maybe if you give him the RF job with no pressure he can turn back into the .250/.315/.470 hitter with 30+ HR power. No doubt he’s an awful RF that drags down his value, but 20 HR’s with a respectable WRC+ at the deadline could draw trade interest as a platoon/DH for a playoff team. Eisert for Casty, Jean Cabrera, and Carson Demartini?
  4. This is true. But just generally, this will add up to a few million bucks. Not nothing, but also not even close to offsetting the investment. Unfortunately, the league currently retains the right to sell the international broadcasts to nhk
  5. It was based on some random small sample size of incomplete data
  6. It was awful. Oklahoma stunk most of the year and beat a good but not great Bama team as their lone win. But all are better than a Tulane or Madison. Now if they earn it great, by all means…but neither of those teams deserved any place in this dance.
  7. Does anyone have more details or an article on how he was horrible against fastballs at 93+ MPH?
  8. I mean I know this is the white Sox but if they were afraid of Robert's 20 million they both wouldn't have picked up the option or signed Murakami. If they trade Robert it will because the trade improves the team after 2026.
  9. I think this is more like they are gonna cut payroll, and it will start in CF.
  10. Nick has zero bwar over his last 1000 PA and had a wRC+ of 88 last year as a DH. He's a 33 year old expensive version of Andrew Vaughn. No thanks. Nobody wants him and we don't have any PA for him to try and build value. If we want to use money to get better prospects IMO the obvious avenue is to pay Robert's freight.
  11. I swear I’ve been hearing the opposite. No sarcasm or anything either.
  12. Sox related people have been saying it for years.
  13. I’d like to see $ spent via an “eating a contract” trade that also nets prospects. Who’s a player that can actually start and be a useful piece while also getting prospect value back? I don’t WANT him…but what kind of prospect(s) do you think we could get back from the Phillies if we took on Castellanos and his full $20M? Casty could easily hit 30 HR’s in our stadium and get traded again at the deadline too. Other names?
  14. The other good news is if he is what we all hope, his contract is up 2 years from the end of the Reinsdorf regime of terror, and Ishbias voice should be even louder. Hopefully White Sox fans being conditioned to believe we can't have nice things is coming to an end. Even though they would deny it, it's hard to believe Ishbia had nothing to do with this.
  15. Today
  16. Also worth noting that while the Sox are putting out 40m total for this signing, I bet a sizable chunk of this comes back to them in the form of Japanese ad sales. Wouldn't be surprised at all see Japanese ads in the park for opening day, plus some specialty media deals.
  17. Low key great part about last night was that I don’t recall the broadcast giving the new stadium crap any airtime.
  18. Totally get the guy being disappointed with the offers and wanting a prove it deal to become a free agent at 27 again. At least he doesn’t cost a draft pick like other guys who have gone this route.
  19. Win-Win. I understand folks wanting more than 2 years. If he comes here and tears it up, there is reason to believe Ishbia will see the value in keeping him around. The cultural impact alone can move merch. If he comes here, and struggles to establish himself, well...its 2 years.
  20. I hope Getz doesn’t waste money on fluky bullpen arms and save it for the rest of your list.
  21. Should have just stayed in Rage Against The Machine.
  22. Venable hinted at a bunch of moves. Rumors are nonexistent. They still need a SP, veteran OF, trade Robert, a back-of-the-bullpen arm, and then the group of extraneous bullpen fodder. I can't imagine that Murakami was holding up any market.
