Those were fun days. I remember getting through to the score the night we clinched 2005 WS game 4. 😆

I think it is financial. It's the younger and cheaper model. Who will be next in the budget cut?

Billy probably has staph and they don’t want it spreading.

It’s a shame. The drunk angry old Sox fans were especially hilarious.

We can remember when there was no internet, meaning no forums, or everyone has to hear our opinion on "social" media or youtube. Then people forget there is such a thing as sarcasm online. One thing that seems to be gone is fans calling in on radio for the postgame.

8/22 GT Sox/Mets, 6:10. Jump on the momentum
I was nervous we wouldn’t be able to recreate what Tauchmann did last year, and Grichuk just fell into our laps. He’s been amazing.

“The 78” is alive and well for the Sox, Bears are 'advancing' Hammond development
But the Tampa City Council still has to vote on this, right? Since you live in the area, do you know if this is likely to pass the city council?

Yeah, unless I'm missing something, Amtrak's Phase 1 proposal is to build on existing railroad property that is currently occupied by tracks. So, I'm missing where zoning issues come into play here. They don't need to get into any eminent domain issues either as this will all be on property they are buying from Union Pacific Railroad. There is a Phase 2 which could be to build on part of Rate Field parking lots to replace existing Amtrak property that is south of the St. Charles bridge, so maybe there would be a need for a zoning change at that point. But they don't need Phase 2 to clear out the Amtrak yard for the land they envision for the medical campus and stadium.

Where ya seeing this? Any reason given? Shut down from pro games but still working with the team? Belated summer vacation? Not great news. edit: https://www.soxon35th.com/white-sox-shut-down-first-overall-pick-roch-cholowsky-for-the-rest-of-the-2026-season/

Will Venable's Managing
Some classic Ron baiting / trolling in this thread! Love it. Makes me wistful for the days he used to double down on Abreu being finished as a player for the better part of 7 years. Who can argue with an eye like Ron’s?

Bullpen numbers...
The guys with the highest workloads seem to be performing the best. Taylor, Newcomb, Richards namely. Hudson seems to be falling off, maybe Brazoban. Perhaps they're tired. Or are just normalizing to their true production. Analysis doesn't seem to include minor league innings, Hagen's stuff looks great and Schweitzer has been more than serviceable. Both have pitched a lot of innings this year. Not having a fifth starter the rest of the way is cause for concern to me mostly because it makes too many guys unavailable for the following game or two. Hopefully Martin can return to form, or one of Thorpe, Sandlin, Shane Smith, Schultz, whoever can start and be effective. I dunno, not super concerned about overuse, there's been a bit of churn and burn to account for those IP and the bullpen seems to me to be at a pretty good spot heading into the stretch.

Yea I saw that, looks pretty nice for them. Doubt they will draw many more but having a real air conditioned dome is a big issue and they finally will have it from what I read.

In other stadium news it looks like the Rays are finally going to get their new stadium in Tampa just south of Raymond James stadium. https://www.mlb.com/news/rays-release-documents-outlining-agreement-with-city-of-tampa-for-proposed-stadium

The parallels are wild, even down to the 4th HR to get the Sox to 6 runs being from a catcher! https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHA/CHA200508210.shtml

Grichuk and Beni, the 2 old pros have been our unsung heroes with lots of clutch hitting.

Sox now have a Big Three. Mura, Vargas and Colson.
