Think we’re gonna be comparing this stat battle very closely with a Big 10 hitter needing to over perform average minor league stats 🥹
-
Keith Law has the Sox 8th, and the Twins bottom third.

Rumor: White Sox in potential discussion(s) with Red Sox....
Whisox05 replied to DFAthewave69420's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I know that but they have extra what we need in outfielders and we extra infielders and catchers they need. -
I am shocked a team is giving him a chance this early and I like Doyle. Think he's gonna be a damn good head coach down the road but this is early. That's tough for Ben Johnson.
-
Everytime I read these articles every off season I think two things: 1. Glad to see this guy trying to get better and exhausting all avenues 2. Driveline has a great PR and marketing team I'm not saying they don't do good work, but there are many great shops and coaches that players work with in offseason.

Rumor: White Sox in potential discussion(s) with Red Sox....

Would rather be trading to get one of their outfielders than the pitching they have. -
Yeah, but the changes Driveline is suggesting aren't to "swing harder". They're working on his lower body to naturally gain some bat speed without changing his arm effort. They are also working with him to make contact in front of the plate more often to give his swing more time to accelerate - this one is a bigger change and could result in some bat control issues, but Quero is so good at bat control I'd posit he could drop a few % points and end up with a net gain in productivity if his bat speed goes up.
-
Especially in a farm system that is ranked ahead of ours
-
No guarantee he maintains that bat control and ability to square up as he gains MPH. Swinging slower makes bat control easier.
-
Hope they keep all those guys. Let them rot and see their trade value decrease. Don’t want the Twins to accumulate a bunch of young assets.

Non-White Sox Off-Season Hot Stove

Cant trade Bux anywhere without him agreeing and has sounded like he wanted to stay -
Quero would need to add 3.5 mph to his bat speed to match Naylor. 6.4 to match Chisholm. 8.4 to match Barger. Quero is really good at squaring up the ball though, so even adding a small extra % to his bat speed would likely help him a lot. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/leaderboard/bat-tracking?sortColumn=squared_up_per_bat_contact&sortDirection=desc

I suspect the Pohlads may be about to do the full Reinsdorf and trade Ryan, Buxton, etc and Falvey wanted none of it. Can’t be a great place to work if the top 2 baseball guys both voluntarily leave in a two year period.

Really dont know how he can be counted on as a starter anymore. If for some reason hes being involved in talks with white sox, it has to be a bullpen piece but again they need outfield and starting pitching more. Trading any little value we have again a possible starter when there is so much free agents is poor use of goods. -
Quero had 4th percentile bat velocity last year. Chisholm was at like 67th percentile. Color me a bit skeptical that he just needs a 2mph boost to get 20-25 HR power. Good article otherwise.

Reiner is one of the most talented individuals in history in any field along with his dad. His dad wrote all 35 Dick Van Dyke episodes per season. How the hell can one mind pull that off? And like u said: Spinal Tap to A Few Good Men and Harry Met Sally? All amazing movies, all different. And his acting ... that scene in All in the Family in which he thanks Archie for everything he did for him upon moving Gloria and the kid to California is so well acted it makes one tear up. And his acting in Spinal Tap, all improvised? WTH? He is a 10 out of 10. And even though I disagreed with his politics 100 percent, I don't give a flip about that. His brillance and intelligence deserved an audience. I saw him on some talk shows debating politics in a calm manner, not like most cable TV shows where they scream over each other. Rob Reiner rest in peace. The way he died saddens and sickens me. Disgusting. I love Rob Reiner even tho I never met him.

MLBTR Offseason Outlook on White Sox
Chicago White Sox replied to WestEddy's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Now plot this against chase rate and you will find few players with both elite pitch recognition and elite contact ability to the extent of Meidroth.
