Schriffen: "It's been an amazing three years". Implies that them calling Sox games together is over. Could Stone be on his way out?
I don't understand most of the negative opinions about Schriffen. For example, he asked Stone if a hitter should be given the green light on 3-O. What was he supposed to do? Say nothing? OK. After he was criticized for that on-line, he stopped doing it, and that in itself became awkward - catering to the whims of internet sports forum warriors. Then the criticism about not gauging the distance of deep fly balls. Actually he was far better at that then Benetti. Then the "South side, stand up" OK, it was wonky but honestly, I admired the deference to the South side and it took balls to do that. Schriffen walked through the parking lot pregame to interact with Sox fans who were tailgating. Anyone have issues with that? Now, he made mistakes that some found unacceptabl. Others just do not like him personally or hate him for whatever their reasons. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Mine is that I don't think that he committed a firing offense (including his reference to Samurai swords) but if the majority of posters on this forum dislike him, then he probably should not be signed to an extension. After all, this place is the authority on all matters White Sox and management should defer.

Caleb Bonemer heading to the AFL
At this time last year everyone had Shane Smith penciled in as the Ace of the Staff.

Caleb Bonemer heading to the AFL
Peters had one season as an extreme late bloomer. He is not a known commodity. People anointed Colson in a small sample size and it’s questionable. Bonemer can’t win the job in spring training, but it’s pretty fluid competition in my opinion

White sox getting more media attention
Projected arb figures from MLBTraderumors. This is a really young and cheap team. Sorta thing you dream about building in OOTP. Things can change, but man if we add some payroll..

“The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
This. First you need the train yard stuff done. It is 2026 and we are still in the arguing about it phase. I mean MAYBE you get shovels in the ground at some point next year, but my guess is that 28 is more realistic to do all of the background work that needs to be done such as environmental studies, etc. So then you are probably taking to 2029, at least, if not 30 to get the yard done, then after they vacate the Railyards, THEN the team starts that whole process over again for remediation and such on their own site before they can get to work on building an actual stadium. I would think the 2033 season is a realistic goal to open a new Sox park with all of the moving parts. THEN the Bears could start on their stadium. We are probably talking 10ish years from today for them to move in.

“The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
Good point, we are probably talking something like 2035 before those dominos all can fall in order.

Problem is the new Sox park unlikely to be completed that quick

He shamed us. He doubled down on his schtick. He knew we didn’t like it. Did it anyway. Sayonara. (I am Japanese!)

It’s been a beautiful week without him. Is that a gloating moment or…..

“The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
In terms of the timelines, it does, actually. The Sox need to be out by 2029, potentially 2030, and the Bears need to be out by 2033. A 3-4 year window to construct an NFL stadium is ample. In terms of what the Bears want, though, it quickly falls apart. If the White Sox weren’t willing to construct a stadium district around 35th and Shields, there’s no chance the Bears would be. Also, a Bears stadium there would lie on ISFA land, which means they would not own their stadium.

“The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
It makes no sense. The White Sox would have to build their stadium, and then the Bears could build theirs. Way too drawn out. They are going to AH.

I think he is the only one who spent entire season. Other Players who simply were on the team are Burke, Martin, Pham, Fedde and Vargas. I think that’s it

Did he improve? Sure. Do you get the impression he likes the Sox? Yea. Did he deserve another year? No. Even with his improvement he still was bad and I get the impression Stone would have retired rather than work with him again full time. Kinda just is what it is. He's been gainfully employed with his travel expenses all comped for three seasons while taking most of the offseason off from other gigs. He'll be OK and we'll hopefully find someone better.

Who on this Sox team spent the entire 2024 record-losing season? Benintendi is one. Anyone else?

I think these 2026 White Sox Whiz Kids might be a team of destiny and are going to beat the Guards in 4 games. After that it will probably be harder with either the Rays or Yankees in the ALCS so no prediction.

I know this isn’t the majority opinion here but if they DONT take the ALDS, I‘ll have a chip on my shoulder for years to come. I want a banner of some sort to be flying forever in Chicago to commemorate this extremely special team and year! LFGWS!!!!
