  2. It doesn't seem like any adjustments were made after the 19 strike out game....that is what is so maddening to me.
  3. Right on the mark.
  4. The 1983 White Sox led the Majors in runs scored with 800 and only hit 157 homers. Bottom line, while Home Runs are nice and come in handy a good offense needs to be more balanced.
  5. Good comments. I wished our hitters would have adjusted, and I wonder what adjustments if any were suggested by our coaching staff. 21 strike outs are utterly unacceptable and in game adjustments were a must. Sprinkle some small ball, take some pitches, cut down on 2 strike swings, bunt for example. Give take signs to undisciplined hitters in 3-1 counts.
  6. Prayers that it turns out to be benign and for a speedy recovery. Not only is it extremely cool that Leo XIV is a big Sox fan, he's also doing a great job as Pope. I hope he has many more years of good health and that he'll be around to accept that invitation to throw at the first pitch at the new Sox ballpark. https://www.chicagotribune.com/2026/10/11/pope-leo-surgery-nodule-lung/
  7. He looks and sounds good. Wouldn’t shock me if he can make it that long, and it sure seems he won’t step away while living.

There’s a very good chance IMO they just run it back next year with virtually the same position players. I could see them signing Grichuk to a 1-year deal and making Romo the back-up catcher. Would everyone be ok with this? You all know I believe one of the Montgomerys needs to go.
  9. Great season......we ran out of gas and got a bit anxious and nervous the last 3 games. Lots to be proud off but also a lot to fix too.
  10. While I am deeply hurting, it was a truly magical season and more fun than anytime since 2005. I am so proud of them and so grateful for this year, I'm just hurting right now.
  11. Great analogy. I can't enjoy the memories of a great season just yet, especially with the abysmal offensive effort last night. Burke deserved better than to get whacked with a playoff loss for his performance. Onward, forward....I'm trying.
  12. Have you not seen how incredibly careful the Sox are with Schultz and Hagen?
  13. ...at the earliest. He could opt to hang on as owner until 2034.
  14. Hopefully it goes well. Sending my prayers
  15. Didn’t Shane Smith go rogue and work with a Driveline group last offseason and change up his mechanics?
  16. There's no definitive medical reason that limits innings. Prep them all to be starters and whoever is good will stay a starter until they're no longer good. Whoever isn't goes in the bullpen.
  17. The more I read about this guy, the more upset I get. His same philosophy got the Twins hitting coaches fired after a similar late season collapse in 2024. Good pitching will exploit his philosophy. Renteria was fired after a playoffs....Shomon can move on too. To make no adjustments after a 19 strike out performance so that you top that with a 21K performance two games later is enough to see.
  18. There will be a fuckton of SP available this offseason, which made the Castillo trade even dumber than it was on paper. Regardless, you have to add two guys who can give you quality innings. This is what I’d like to see happen with the pitching staff to start the season: Rotation: Burke <Free Agent> <Free Agent> D. Martin L. Castillo Bullpen: CL: G. Taylor SU: H. Smith* SU: J. Hicks MR: <S. Newcomb*> MR: H. Brazoban MR: B. Hudson* LR: D. Sandlin LR: A. Kay* AAA Rotation: N. Schultz* D. Thorpe T. McDougal S. Smith K. Bush* M. Vasil Castillo gets an incredibly short leash and is replaced by Schultz, Sandlin, or Thorpe if he’s still the 2026 guy. Martin gets a longer leash, but has to show signs that is was the calf injury impacting his performance down the stretch or he eventually gets moved to the bullpen. Hagen & Taylor remain key bullpen pieces alongside Hicks and a resigned Newcomb. Kay moves to a swingman role. AAA rotation serves as depth to both major league rotation & bullpen. Give me this and we are cooking. Also, cue the CBA fear mongers who assume we will spend zero money this coming offseason and will rock a $100M payroll.
  19. Big innings jumps is likely what wiped out Shane Smith, fwiw. Has gone through so many injuries and career set backs from his college days.
  20. Pope Leo is having surgery this week to have a nodule removed from one of his lungs. I will be praying that everything goes well.
  21. no energy left to fight lol? well there's always Dec 2nd when fans can stand with the deca millionaires OR deca billionaires
  22. God died in Cleveland. Because, where else.
  23. That’s not good though if they want to make these guys starters on a full time basis next year
  24. Pope Leo turning into Heisenberg is quite the sequel
  25. It's a fact now. OP got out ahead of this story early.
