  1. Past hour

  2. Brazoban joins Hicks as a Sox pen arm with an elite barrel%
  3. .400 babip that's surely sustainable.
  4. Top of the draft has been a minefield the last 5-6 years. I was looking, there's a ton of busts in the top 3, and 1,1 as well. Roch seems to have as high of a floor as possible but man if he's just an avg regular that's gonna suck.
  5. Vargas Colson ??? (surely compared to 23-24) Peters until recently Boston Smith Jacob Gonzalez Bonemer Antonacci There was suddenly this more prevailing idea that the system could magically fix/transform hitters (at least since the second half of 25)...but how true is that really? Peters Colson and Gonzalez (sss) are falling back. Acuna at best is a wash with last year. Are the Sox really going to take credit for Mune's adjustments to velocity? Meidroth is pretty similar to the player everyone expected on offense, in aggregate, although his defense has been a pleasant surprise. Teel ... well, who the hell knows what he is at this point? Otoh Quero was the only significant disappointment, based on prospect pedigree. Maybe B.Montgomery not quite hitting for as much power as was initially hoped for???
  6. That and no injuries.
  7. Anything is OK except a Red Sox sweep.
  8. Adell debuts for them tonight, batting 2nd
  9. really hope bosox just hit that wall. Can't win em all
  10. Next question is what made him blow up offensively for the Pirates in 2024 and then come back down to earth?
  11. My opinion is that @Dick Allen is right. I doubt most people were treating Mason Adams and Boston Smith as untouchable prospects. They thought that some of Castillo’s contract money should have been sent over by the Mariners for next season due to the inclusion of Smith. Instead, Getz paid for Dominguez’s $2 million buyout for next year. Also, trading Mason Adams wasn’t the problem. It’s who they traded him for. Trading him for an outfielder that is arguably worse than the outfielders you already have is questionable.
  12. One of my goals for him for the rest of the season moving through next spring is that he is able to solidify himself as an indispensable regular who needs no platoon pairing.
  13. FWIW this is also some of what Quero is going through. He had 0 passed balls and a .996 fielding% as a rookie last year, and then they had him change his set up with the goal of improving framing results and his blocking has suffered as a result.
  14. Just begging for consistency on evaluations. These guys didn't just instantly depreciate because Chris Getz traded them.
  15. Agreed. IMO he's not a platoon player. Give the kid a chance.
  16. About what was expected - hopefully he takes it up a whole nother level this year. Last year was a huge step-up and he did it playing hurt, would love to see him set the standard and become the best RT in the game this year! Well deserved pay day for Wright!
  17. My best friend is a die hard Giants fan as much as we all are Sox fiends… He said we’ll love Bart and that he initially had issues transitioning to a one legged setup behind the dish that lead to him allowing a lot of passed balls / poor blocking. He’s since tightened that up and now blocking is one of his strengths. He also said pitchers did indeed prefer throwing to him. He’s also slightly above average in controlling the running game. The main knock was his pitch framing which with ABS i personally don’t think has as much value. If I recall - his bat had been showing signs of life before the trade as well.
  18. There's never 100% consensus on any trade. Everyone knows that. Plenty of people thought Gonzalez was wasted on not trying to use him to acquire a pitcher. mostly from all who thought he was a bust. People were still calling it Gonzalez for Thome when it was more about driving the price up on a 1st round talent like Prosek to be able to pay him in the 3rd round with the extra money that came with getting the comp pick. Then they come on here acting like oh can't wait to see how opinions flip with Adams and B. Smith as if they've never did that .
  19. Oh he got PAID. Good for him.
  20. Bears extend Darnell Wright 4 years 116 million, 93 million guaranteed Pro Football RumorsBears, RT Darnell Wright Agree To 4-Year ExtensionThe Bears are signing All-Pro right tackle Darnell Wright to a four-year contract extension.
  21. Got that playoff feeling. I need some nervous pills.
  22. It's not essentially the same player. Nobody ever mistook Hill for a starting CF. That's Doyle's ceiling, gold glove starting CF with some pop. And it's weird. When we trade Hill for 2 minor leaguers, we "gave him away for free". So in that same vein, we got Doyle for free, as well as Bart and Brazoban.
