2027 Rotation
I don't think that would ever happen, less than 1% chance, a lot of guys would have to bust out and get injured before they move Vargas to the OF @vilehoopster trading Taylor would allow another team to dream on him as a SP if the Sox aren't sold on him there. if the Sox see him as a legit starter then trading him doesn't make sense. my whole premise was based on if they don't think he will be able to handle the work load they are really pushing him right now beyond anything he's ever done as a pitcher, so I feel like they're gonna know in the next 30 days if his arm can handle it, I remember specifically it being reported this year that he was already not feeling great after working more than 1 inning. right now he's got that post season adrenaline bump, how does he fare next season in regular games this is all speculation and discussing random s%*# bro, it's not that big of a deal re: "Don't you guys understand?" 😂

ALDS Game 2: White Sox at Guardians. Monday, 4:00 PM CT
If we win this game I feel like this team will have nearly no pressure in Game 3 at home and will come out playing hot out of the gate, if we lose Game 2 it puts a lot more pressure on us to keep home field advantage and not have to go back to CLE

Brewers white Sox World Series would be amazing. That rivalry was a lot of fun

2027 Rotation
Since Vargas played outfield in the dodgers system, wondering what people think about moving him to left field. I think he has the athleticism to potentially become an elite defensive outfielder. He is not Eloy 2.0

2027 Rotation
there is no way on gods green earth that we will be trading established players for prospects. Unless it's a very specific case. We are in win now mode. Next season is ALCS or bust.

ALDS Game 2: White Sox at Guardians. Monday, 4:00 PM CT
I know they used extensive screeners before they bring anybody into the organization. Both them and the Rays use a metric system for personality and character traits. There are some really cool tools that these teams are now using which can essentially construct the perfect clubhouse by predicting player groupings which can predict how players will interact in a clubhouse. It's easy for some of us to roll our eyes but then you look at the Red Sox or even Cubs and it's pretty obvious that there is some unrest in the clubhouse.

This Day In Sox History 10/5...
Five factoids today: October 5, 1908 - Sox pitcher “Big” Ed Walsh won his 40th game of the season, as he beat Detroit 6-1. No one has come close to matching it in the ensuing seasons. Walsh led all of MLB in games (66), starts (49), complete games (42), shutouts (11), innings (464) and strikeouts (269). Oh, and he led the majors in saves as well, with six, had that been an official statistic. October 5, 1983 - Cy Young Award winner LaMarr Hoyt pitched a brilliant complete game, five-hitter in beating the Orioles 2-1 in game #1 of the A.L.C.S. It was the first time since divisional playoffs started in 1969 that Baltimore ever lost the first game of a post season series. It would be the high-water mark for the Sox in the next week. He struck out four and lost his shutout in the ninth inning on a bloop hit by Cal Ripken Jr. With Ripken on base, Hoyt got the dangerous Eddie Murray to hit a ground ball up the middle, he deflected the ball just enough to slow it down so Scott Fletcher could field it, step on second base, record the force out and end the contest played at Memorial Stadium. October 5, 1993 - Game #1 of the A.L.C.S. was a complete unmitigated disaster both on and off the field for the Sox. On the field, Toronto ripped the Sox 7-3 but by the middle of the game, not one fan cared. Michael Jordan who threw out the ceremonial first pitch confirmed reports that he was holding a press conference the next morning to announce his retirement from the Bulls. Fans at the game and around the city were in shock. Adding insult to injury, future Hall of Fame catcher Carlton Fisk and Chicago native and former Sox pitcher Donn Pall were turned away by security guards when they attempted to wish the team good luck in the locker room before the game started. The White Sox claimed the rules were set by Major League Baseball but no fan or media member was fooled by that comment. Most media members felt Fisk was turned away on explicit orders from owner Jerry Reinsdorf. It was an insult Fisk never forgot. Reinsdorf then took an unprecedented step of apologizing to the team in the clubhouse before the start of game #2 saying he had no wish to take away their spotlight because of the Jordan situation. October 5, 2008 - Making the post season for the third time in the decade the Sox were on the brink of elimination in the 2008 A.L.D.S., but behind the strong starting pitching effort from John Danks they beat Tampa Bay 5-3 to survive another day. Danks pitched into the seventh inning of game #3 with seven strikeouts. A three run fourth inning set the tone for the Sox in the game. Dewayne Wise had two RBI’s for the Sox. October 5, 2022 – It was the end to one of the most disappointing seasons in White Sox history. Six years earlier Sox G.M. Rick Hahn started the rebuild with the words that the franchise was “Mired in mediocrity.” After the Twins pounded the Sox 10-1 to end the 2022 campaign the team finished…at 81-81. The very definition of mediocrity. It was only the fifth time in team history the club ended a year exactly at .500. The season was supposed to see the Sox make the postseason for a third straight year and potentially play in the World Series. Instead the team played listless, seemed to have little sense of urgency, couldn’t stay healthy and was saddled with bizarre in-game decisions by manager Tony LaRussa who resigned before the season even ended because of serious health issues. The year marked season 10 under G.M. Hahn whose track record was less than stellar. Seven losing years, two winning ones and a .500 year. The Sox had two playoff appearances but also two quick first round playoff exits under his watch. This would be Hahn’s last full season in charge.

ALDS Game 2: White Sox at Guardians. Monday, 4:00 PM CT
It's easy to have fun when you are winning. Could you imagine this -- "we just lost our 99th game, we need more fucking dancing in the dugout. We're hiring a choreographer." would you believe a truce when we lost 120 games?

2027 Rotation
The Sox are not gonna trade Taylor and, as great as he was yesterday, he’s not going to bring in what Crochet brought. But let’s assume that Taylor could bring in what Crochet brought. Three really good young prospects. Where are they going to play? Where? Catcher covered for years. The infield is overstocked to the point that Mune has to be moved to DH, Vargas to 1st, to find a place to play Roch (Colson either SS or 3rd). Billy Carlson is already completely blocked. Caleb B. has to move the outfield to get a place to play next year, but still where in the outfield? Where can Caleb B. play in the outfield, or for that matter Antonacci? Braden Montgomery is in RF and gonna be a ton better next year; he’s there for years. Sox have an all-Star centerfielder who I think is getting moved to LF to make way for the defense, athleticism, and right-hand power bat of Doyle. Peters is gonna be in left, providing the White Sox with, arguably, its best defensive outfield in their history. Antonacci, as much as I love him, has no starting position next year and is excellent depth. Where is Bonemer going to play? Don’t you guys understand? The Sox everyday talent has really, really improved since they traded Crochet. So if they traded Taylor for three prospects the equivalent of Chase, Teel, and B. Montgomery, they would be blocked for playing time like Antonacci, Bonemer, and Carlson. So, there’s absolutely no point to trading Taylor, as silly as the idea was to start with.

We've seen 2 elite closers blow multi inning saves in Duran and Miller. Meanwhile, Grant Taylor's saves just keep getting longer and longer.

LOL> I was 100% right about that but go ahead you vengeful mofo. "Ald. Pat Dowell (3rd Ward) highlighted that the $216 million podium structure, which includes a 1,200-space underground parking garage, solves a critical engineering problem at The 78 mega-development. The site features a complex 40-foot grade change between Roosevelt Road and the city-built Wells-Wentworth connector. Deputy Planning Commissioner Jeff Cohen and Ald. Dowell clarified that without building this massive base structure to bridge the elevation gap, the northern section of the vacant rail yard remains completely unbuildable." The infrastructure is backed by a $425 million Tax Increment Financing (TIF) package approved by the Chicago City Council in July 2026. Originally,, Mansueto promised this soccer stadium would be privately financed . He lied, but the public is used to that routine by now.

The success of the 2026 White Sox pitching staff which heavily relies on the bullpen could become a template for pitching staffs throughout the league. A supposedly tired bullpen is also a bullpen that remains ready to pitch. Take this 🖕

Miller is just not as good recently. I still can't believe he walked Gary Sanchez.- The Official Scoreboard watching thread
What a moment for Chourio, wow- 2026 MILB Catch-All

Why wouldn’t you bring in Miller to face Churio with two on and two out in the seventh just to bring him in to start the 8th. The series was on the line. Those four or five pitches were a bridge too far. They got away with it but that’s poor managing.- 2026 NFL thread
