Phil Knight?

Romo
Knizer was also signed by the Giants. If the Sox refuse to try Lee, may as well get Rogers. I would like to keep Romo in the minors but he looks hopeless right now. Unless the A’s magically release Jonah Heim, you’re not going to do any better than Rogers out there. Or try Haase maybe. Romo can’t buy a hit.

Yea but I don’t know that guys are recovering from that injury that much faster. I mean his knee was basically with no attached tendons or ligaments after the injury if I remember right, just your muscle kind of holding it in its place

Medical advancement has improved dramatically since Columbo was in the league which was 20+ years ago.

Romo
Hayes at least plays great defense. Romo really has no redeeming values.

Im not speaking to yesterday's game specifically. Im saying in general stop messing with his head, give him some consistency, and let the rest of the bullpen know their regular expectations. Be done with the game to game approach. Its not working.

Is It Time To Call Up Bonemer?
I’m really not sure how David Clyde pitching in 1973 is an indicator that Bonemer can hit major league pitching in 2026.

Is It Time To Call Up Bonemer?
David Clyde (18) was drafted #1 by the Rangers in the 1st MLB draft of 1973 in June. He started for the Rangers against the Twins on 6/27/73 . I think this was a disaster but I don't think calling up Bonemer would be the same.

Mat Ishbia’s estimated net worth has fallen by more than $3B since March.

"Has Mat Ishbia lost wealth in the value of UWM since he bought the Phoenix Suns? Absolutely. But while UWM has suspended its quarterly dividends, all shareholders, including the Ishbia family, enjoyed five years of those dividends at $0.10 per share. ***According to Bloomberg, between dividends and distributions, the Ishbia family has received around $6.2 billion over those five years.*** And Ishbia seemed his usual self when addressing the Two Harbors failed acquisition during the UWM earnings call, stating, “It definitely was unfortunate how it happened, and you’ll see some litigation, things that they did inappropriately. We’ll go through that process when that time comes.” The failed Two Harbors acquisition simply falls in line with Ishbia’s aggressive approach across the board and, ideally, proves to be akin to UWM’s version of the Kevin Durant trade - something that made sense but, ultimately, did not work. “The lawsuit filed by UWMC is frivolous and raises serious questions about UWMC's public disclosures. TWO's previously released concerns regarding UWMC's intent and/or ability to close any transaction with TWO has now been thoroughly vindicated. UWMC's stock price has collapsed - it is down almost 70% year-to-date, after UWMC finally disclosed its $600 million derivatives loss, which had been rumored to have occurred since May 19, 2026. The loss highlights the dire condition of UWMC's balance sheet, liquidity and also casts doubt on its risk management and other governance practices. UWMC now says that this loss was related to a "hedge" of TWO’s MSR portfolio -- a portfolio that was already expertly hedged by TWO, not owned by UWMC, and under a binding contract to be sold to CCM. UWMC wishes the market to believe that its $600 million loss is related to a risk position that was approximately 13x the total interest rate exposure of TWO's MSR portfolio assuming it was unhedged, which UWMC knew full well it wasn't. UWMC's assertions that its now-terminated merger agreement with TWO was breached and that it has suffered damages is demonstrably false, and is consistent with its familiar refrain to blame others for its own shortcomings. As UWMC well knows, its stock-for-stock merger failed to secure shareholder support for several reasons, none of them having anything to do with TWO and starting with Mat Ishbia’s disastrous fourth quarter earnings call on February 25, 2026. At the time of the scheduled March 2026 shareholder vote on the UWMC all stock transaction, UWMC stock had declined so much that the value to TWO shareholders was approximately 20% below its book value. Indeed, it would be $3.29 or 70% below book value, if valued as of last night’s close. That, combined with skepticism about UWMC’s governance practices, caused ISS to recommend against the TWO-UWMC transaction. Those concerns seem well-founded today.” TWOTWO Responds to Baseless Claims by UWMC

Sox interested in Jorge Mateo
It will be interesting to see what happens to Chase, Mateo would be a no brainer if Chase gets put on the IL .

8/11 Sox vs. Rojos. Peace Be With You, 6:40 CHSN
Venable, Hudson, Taylor all contributed to the loss. Taylor had a chance to get out of the inning with 1 run scored and coughed it up. Offense went to sleep early and never woke up. Burke get screwed again.

Sox acquire Brenton Doyle - trade Adams and Carlos Vielma (SS)
I didn't realize he was a hulk. If the Sox get this guy going with the bat it will be a welcome site.
