  2. Thats easy.... Chase at SS and Sam at 2B. You put Grichuk in left v righties or lefties
  3. Braves, Cubs, and Guardians seem to have won the trade deadline moves. An obvious swing and miss for the Sox.
  4. We've already got like 7 OF on the roster lol I guess Sam could start over him though and play with Grich in RF. Or Peters and just have a good defense all game
  5. This is when I wish we had another RH outfielder that can mash against LHP. Braden is just not at at this point in his career.
  6. Is Veneble related to Jerry Manuel?
  7. The most embarrassing part of how bad our lineup is right now is that you didn’t say 5-6-7-8-9 were a total joke because you decided Doyle and Mune were a tier above the bottom 3 guys. When Mune and Doyle are the decent part of your lineup, it’s bad.
  8. Can TA suit up and play 2B or SS today?
  9. Dance with the one that brought you is a nice saying but eventually you have to make a switch, help the team's chances and help a guy out
  10. But Guardians were also down DeLauter and Angel Martinez. 11. No relationship to the Philly Phanatic?
  12. Speaking of keeping Castillo around who now isn't even pitching: From the MLB.com site: The Phillies have claimed right-handed pitcher José Urquidy off waivers from the Chicago White Sox. To make room on the 40-man roster, right-handed pitcher Caleb Kilian was transferred to the 60-day injured list. Phillies President of Baseball Operations Dave Dombrowski made the announcement. Urquidy, 31, has appeared in 11 games this season between the Pittsburgh Pirates and White Sox. He made one start on Aug. 24 against the Texas Rangers, however his last three appearances have all come in relief. On Aug. 30 against the Twins in Minnesota, he allowed one run over 5.0 innings. On Sept. 3 in Houston against the Astros, he tossed 1.0 scoreless inning. And, on Sept. 8 against the Pirates, he allowed two runs over 4.0 innings. Combined, he has a 2.70 ERA over his last three appearances (3 ER, 10.0 IP).
  13. At least someone being DTD means another player won’t be pinch hit for.
  14. It's not like Harvey would be totally gentrified if not for their intermodal yard. While the Amtrak facility to Bridgeport is certainly not a positive addition, I disagree with the implication earlier that the area will become another Harvey because of it. Plus, I believe that Harvey facility brings in a lot of truck traffic with semis constantly coming and going. That's not going to happen with an Amtrak facility other than employees coming and going on city streets. As far as any plans for the Rate Field land if and when the Sox leave, if there isn't a plan, one should be developed. I saw somewhere that John Daley said the focus should be a new lease to keep the Sox there. How does he intend that to work? Force the team to stay? And what kind of lease? Another sweetheart deal that will make everyone howl in anger?
  15. As someone who has lived in the South Loop for 20 years, the Bridgeport/Bronzeville/Armour Square area around Rate Field probably is busier than Roosevelt and Canal. Even for someone who lives in the South Loop, the area around the 78 is pretty remote right now. The active areas of the South Loop include Dearborn Station, Wabash between Roosevelt and 18th Street, and State Street around from Balbo to Roosevelt. All these areas aren't that close to Roosevelt and Canal. The closest activity is the Roosevelt Collection mall a few blocks away, but that mall isn't exactly a people magnet. Of course, that would change with Ishbia's proposed mixed-use village. But there definitely aren't thousands of people walking around Roosevelt and Canal on any day of the week.
  16. Open up early, hands drop too much and indecision equals 50 pct strikeout rate
  17. chw42 replied to chw42's topic in Pale Hose Talk
He straight up looks late on any fastball. Especially outside fastballs.
  18. And the dreaded platoons again......
  19. I go back to the fastball he swung under against Gavin Williams. It’s just not going to work at this level.
  20. Dude was at the yard sale in the alley, and bought himself a fake antique along with his bargains.
  21. I agree with that. And as someone who wanted to at least see what Castillo could do, I think the trade is a failure. Doyle was a failure as well. With that stated, Southsider has a point. I don’t think Getz was being overly aggressive. I think he made a lot of calls and thought he was shopping at Aldi, but found himself in the aisles of Shop N Save
  22. Stop. Fucking. Over. Managing. Maybe the team is playing tight because will over managed every single moment.
  23. Jake Rogers revenge game
  24. Just tell him Joc's team is right on our tail. That'll motivate him.
  25. Pinch hit for Acuna maybe, and then play him at 2B
  26. More specific, please. This could mean anything from hitting a grand slam to ending an inning by hitting into a triple play.
