  1. Past hour

  2. I think sent a small amount to them related to Dominguez’s buyout
  3. Nine hours to go until the deadline. Going to be a fascinating day. I still feel like another three trades could happen today. Glad I got a light day of work…lol.
  4. Trying to find the exact numbers but did we end up sending Seattle any cash in the deal? For 2027 Castillo is making $22.75 million and Dominguez $10 million with a $2 million buyout, so $10.75 million net for Castillo for next season? Or is it more with the cash considerations?
  5. If anything, I think he'll be better with us as the Mets defense is comically inept at times.
  6. Seems like this will strengthen the back end of the bullpen. This guy is essentially the replacement for Dominguez, at a fraction of the cost. I would think Taylor becomes the closer.
  7. I do think he has improved. Still too many cringe moments for me. He seemed upset they were making fun of him for dropping nachos. His South Side, stand up, was ridiculous when he used it after a Spring Training game the year they set a record for losses. But now, it would be great. He needs to take it out of the mothballs. Maybe like their alternate uniforms, they don't want to be South Side, anymore.
  8. I’m a big Gabe Davis fan, but I do really like this move. In this market, it feels like you’re only paying for one extra year of control with the second & third being more or less house money given his age. Brazoban’s heavy groundball rate is a perfect fit for both our ballpark and our strong infield defense. Getting another high confidence RHP is also a major plus. Taylor, Hicks, Brazobán, Newcomb, Hudson, & Murphy is a really good core of relievers. Richards has been solid as a long reliever and Fedde (despite being negative fWAR) has performed well over the past two months. Do they want to keep two long guys down the stretch? How do Hagen & McDougal factor into the mix? The Sox have basically confirmed they are part of the Major league plan, but right the major league bullpen is completely full with no obvious cuts. I agree with @Jose Abreu that maybe we see Getz sell one of the lefties to free up at least one spot for the young guys.
  9. We almost got Griffey in 05 this way. He passed through waivers and we were close to trading for him.
  10. Outside of a last ditch effort to get 1 of the Seattle arms, C seems like about the only move Getz has left. Please don’t waste prospects on another SP barely better than Fedde. Either a legit top 3 playoff starter or roll with what we have.
  11. Despite his age, he makes nothing, and isn't a FA for a while. Probably will blow up eventually, but is having a hot year.
  12. I follow the Mets as they are my local NYC team. This is a really good trade. And it means we can start using Taylor as our closer. We've flipped Dominguez and replaced him with someone we can actually use in high leverage situations.
  13. Glad I want to bed at midnight and before this went down, or I too would have been up all night.
  14. Today

  15. He should have been given hazardous duty pay for sitting through those terrible seasons. Schriff is fine, I like his banter with Dan, they make a good team. The only person I don't want to do Sox color or play by play is Jay Mariotti.
  16. Good luck with the rehab.
  17. God I saw this at 3AM and couldnt sleep...them changing the deadline to Monday is horrible.
  18. sox still have a bunch of guys on the 40 Man that will need to be moved or traded if they want to add from other teams, I'm surprised this hasn't happened yet to be honest
  19. How does the Sox bullpen stack up stat wise against the rest of the MLB ?
  20. Huascar is fine. Coming into the year, he's more consistent than Dominguez and they do it different but they aren't/weren't all that different from an outcomes perspective over the duration of their career. I just hate giving up more assets for the bullpen (for a 6-7 inning guy). We've spent such a high % of our assets on the bullpen in the Getz era.
  21. Good move. Gabe Davis may become something under the Mets very good pitching development program. He didn’t seem to be improving with the Sox. Franklin was buried despite good stuff.
  22. That’s the only one I can think of. Maybe a pitcher.
  23. I miss the waiver wire when people would freak out when someone got put on it and 99 percent of the time it meant nothing.
  24. Didn't the Houser trade last year get announced late? Going way back i think the Loaiza Contreras trade too.
  25. Nothing in sports like a day in day out pennant race.
  26. I just wish we could win 8 or 10 games in a row so we have a bit of a cushion if we run into a bit of a losing streak, it is sort of amazing that the longest losing streak has only been 3 games.
