  2. I thought the Sox and Bears would both be pretty decent this year. I am an idiot.

  3. Financially - I think it would make sense for the Sox to concede Chicago to the Cubs and move to the burbs. They may find there's more dollars to earn in the burbs than there ever was in the south side. I agree Naperville makes more sense to the Sox given their fan's geographical locations approximately. But they would likely be on their own there. Arlington would in conjunction with the Bears. If they built two stadiums at Arlington, it would come with hotels, restaurants, bars, entertainment, mega sponsors...and the teams could get those perspective businesses and sponsors to foot a lot of the bills there.

  4. ISFA (located at GRF) will almost certainly make a deal with the Sox for a new lease at 35th and Shields before the current lease expires, especially if the Sox want to rehab or rebuild there. Meanwhile there is nothing structurally wrong with GRF ...a facility than can last for decades if properly maintained. Infrastructure (streets , sewers gas/ electric), parking facilities, access to public transportation, expressway access...it is already there. The ONLY option that might attract the Sox and the City of Chicago is Soldier Field...a very remote possibility and that only....IF the Bears move out and a deal can be worked out, including TIF financing and a share of gaming, hotel taxes, and other revenues. Frankly, I don't see the Sox moving anywhere for decades and any thoughts about that will be put to bed when they get a new lease in place.

  5. Maybe in 10 years the Sox and Bears will be good again. Maybe. I'm 29 years old. I got hooked on the Sox and Bears because of their 05-06 seasons respectively. Neither have had much to show since then. I've basically been a disappointed sports fan throughout all my teenage years and 20s. Why do I continue to be a fan of these teams? Am I just easily duped?

  6. There’s another run and he’s hurt. Hope some of you realize why your QB shouldn’t keep running

  7. They’ve given him designed runs this game. He’s has freedom to run all years. What they’ve given him is open receivers and he rather run into traffic. They’ve given him more RPOs and designed runs and the offense looks as bad as it ever has. and it’s not like KC has a world beating defense. Teams know JF can’t read the field. Coordinators job is to scheme guys open and get the QB enough time to hit them. Getsy has done that.

  8. I could have improved the offensive line from last year, and as I stated, I am an idiot. He seems to think this is all on Fields. Some of it is, but they don’t want to play to his strengths. If the drafted him to be a pocket passer, and I know the current regime didn’t draft him, they are bigger idiots than me. What excited people about Fields was when they started using his strengths. That stopped. So did any Bears hope.

  11. O Line is actually protecting at least at league rate if not upper half. Guys are schemed open offensively. They clearly are running more designed runs and it’s netting them nothing to try to get their flawed QB to look decent. Team also has set themselves up with some nice assets so when they get a QB who is not so heavily flawed, they will make a huge turnaround. Similar to Miami a few years ago. dint be impatient knowing that the rebuild was never less than a 3 year job and we are at 1 year and 3 months of Poles and Eberflus on the job. Give people time foe their plan to play out.

  12. 8-4 against the hated Red Sox and Yankees, pretty good except we were 3-16 against the rest of the East

  13. You can pack Poles in the car with them. Note to George McCaskey, stay away from anyone named Matt or Ryan.

  15. Trying to get 20-20 and losing him for half of 2024 would be pretty on brand for how these last two seasons have gone. Sad. Obviously it might be precautionary and he will end up being fine as well...but this year has been a total disaster since Hendriks and Clevinger in the spring. Robert was the one shining light. It's the Sox equivalent of Miami losing Tua.

  17. Robert Jr. with stolen base No. 20. He's the first White Sox player ever to go 35 homers, 35 doubles and 20 stolen bases in the same season Per Merkin

  18. September 24, 1919 - A 6-5 win over the St. Louis Browns clinched the pennant for the White Sox. Eddie Cicotte got the win. “Shoeless” Joe Jackson’s double in the ninth drove in the game and pennant clinching run. The Sox would beat out the Indians by three and a half games for the title and finish with a record of 88-52. The key to the season came in mid-August when the Sox reeled off a 10-game win streak. September 24, 1961 - Sox star pitcher Billy Pierce won his 186th and final game with the team as he threw almost seven innings in relief in an 8-7 win over Baltimore. Pierce would be traded to the Giants the following off season after 13 years on the South Side. He represented the Sox in seven All-Star games and started three of them for the American League, a White Sox record for pitchers. September 24, 1969 - Sox owner Art Allyn sold the club to his brother John Allyn thwarting moves made by Kansas City Chiefs owner Lamar Hunt and Milwaukee’s Allan "Bud" Selig to buy the team. Hunt wanted to move it to Dallas, Selig to Milwaukee. After Art had a handshake agreement with Selig to move the team to Milwaukee, John stepped in and issued an ultimatum that if he wanted to move the club he would have to get approval from the Artnell Company Board of Directors. Art declined to do that and sold to John. September 24, 1977 - Sox infielder Jack Brohamer had the game of his life as he became the second player in franchise history to hit for the cycle in a game at Seattle. Brohamer went 5 for 5 with two runs scored and four RBI’s in the 8-3 win. He homered in the first, doubled in the third, doubled in the fifth, singled in the sixth and tripled in the ninth inning collected 12 total bases. September 24, 2000 - Despite losing to the Twins at the Metrodome, the Sox clinched the Central Division championship beating out Cleveland by five games with a record of 95-67. Owner Jerry Reinsdorf showed up in the locker room and said that “I’m sure all Sox fans are now happy the team made the White Flag deal.” Because of injuries to the pitching staff, primarily the starters, the Sox were not in good shape heading into the playoffs and were swept out in three by the Mariners. Offense was the key to the season as the Sox had the most prolific one in the American League led by the devastating one-two punch of Frank Thomas (143 RBI’s) and Magglio Ordonez (126 RBI’s). September 24, 2023 – In a disaster of a season for the White Sox one person at least had a memorable year for all the right reasons. When Luis Robert stole his 20th base of the year in the first inning of a rain-shortened 3-2 win in Boston he joined Magglio Ordonez as the only players in team history with at least 35 doubles, 30 home runs and 20 stolen bases in a season. He also is the only Sox player in team history with 35 or more doubles, 35 or more home runs, 75 or more RBI’s, 85 or more runs scored and 15 or more stolen bases in a single year..

  19. Of course I was joking. If JR truly had his way, the broadcasters would be in a studio in Chicago (or better yet their basements) and use the opponents video feed

  20. Did not expect to see White Sox personnel (Bannister) to appear in a Mark Rober video, so that lifts my spirits somewhat.

  21. Nice victory today, I’m one who doesn’t want to see 100 losses. We’ve had enough embarrassment this year and losing 100 games is embarrassing as it gets.

  22. If only his drunk obese ass held himself accountable in a White Sox uniform. Been going to White Sox games since July 20, 1976. David Wells remains the only White Sox player I've ever booed at a game. July 8, 2001 - David Wells 22 pitches, 5 batters faced, 3 hits, 1 walk. 2 errors, 0 outs, 2 runs. Thankfully the White Sox bullpen held the Cubs to just one more run over 10 innings, and Carlos Lee belted a walk off grand slam off of Courtney Duncan for a 7-3 win in 10 innings.
