  1. With Junior’s surgery, should we want Senior instead? 😶 Excellent troll regardless. 👍🏻
  2. You'd have a hard time convincing me Schwarber is the best use of whatever funds they may have available. This team is 2 years away from being 2 years away. Schwarber is going to be massively overpaid to DH, we need to spend Schwarber level money to just fill the roster with replacement level players that actually belong on a MLB roster.
  3. This team lost 102 games this year. They are not one player away from a division title.
  4. These discussions are like a 400lb lady looking at a Victoria Secrets catalog - so far removed from reality
  5. I content with the Sox not really doing anything. It seems like a wise move.
  6. I don't think I can recall a stranger season than Colson had. Some days he was a completely unplayable mess, and others he looked like a superstar. I literally have zero idea what to expect from him.
  7. Not bad for half a season and the early season struggles/AZ hail mary https://www.mlb.com/news/colson-montgomery-fifth-in-2025-al-rookie-of-the-year-voting
  8. The hope is that by the end of 5 years they have their financial feet back under them again, and that baseball labor peace has returned. They have cut payroll, they have a TV deal in place, and now it is about rebuilding from the bottom up so that HOPEFULLY one day we are bringing guys in through the system, instead of mediocrity off of the street. Realistically, this was still a 102 loss team with no hope of contending, and the spectre of a game changing labor agreement on the horizon. while I expect them to spend a few bucks to plug a few holes and fill some innings, they really shouldn't be spending a lot until they guys they are signing could actually be on the next playoff team. If that standard isn't happening, they shouldn't be committing long term dollars to them.
  9. Asante Samuel jr(NOT SENIOR) is supposed to be visiting today. I genuinely wonder what he has in the tank, spinal fusion surgery is no small thing. However, from his perspective he has to see the Bears as a good chance for playing time and the Bears need bodies at DB
  10. Yes… https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Flag_Trade And the infamous quote by Jerry at the time was — “Anyone who thinks we can catch Cleveland is crazy.”
  11. The Sox were only a few games out of first place and had just gotten Ventura back from the gruesome leg injury when JR pulled the plug. The Twins were never that close to a potential post season spot if I remember right. The White Flag Trade was much, much worse and that doesn't even factor in the national and local implications, the fan resentment over the next few years (even in 2000) and the impact it had on the field.
  12. Just think — if Jerry ever saw your request for a GM interview and gave you a shot, that’s the payroll you would ultimately be working with. I’d probably share my resume with 25 other teams before doing so with the White Sox.
  13. The Sox are their own self fulfilling prophecy ("We aren't ready to compete so we can't spend money!") You aren't ready to compete because you refuse to spend money, you gaslighting fucks
  14. No, the dark side is realizing this didn't just start.
  15. The Marlins never came close to having a #1 overall farm system under her, though. TLR basically broke the White Sox. If Hahn had been allowed to hire Hinch and not over ruled, things could have at least turned out far better than they did.
  16. I find it easy being a White Sox fan. I renew my season tickets every year and go to the games and just hope for the best.
