Who else hates Mike Wilbon on PTI
He is such a passive-aggressive lying A-Hole. Any time he can jab the White Sox on PTI or anywhere, he does; but he ALWAYS starts out saying that he likes the White Sox and wishes them the best. But then he jabs them and tonight on PTI was a perfect example: It was the end of the show and he and Tony were doing their quick-at-the-end comments. And the topic of Nelson Cruz's great weekend against the White Sox came up and that he did it at 40 years old. So, as they wrap up on Cruz, here goes Wilbon. Something like this and it's pretty close: "I'm a Cubs fan but I always wish the best for the White Sox because I'm a Chicago sports fan," then he said something about the South Side. Then he ends it with his zinger on the national forum that PTI gives him, (again not exact words). He ends the topic of Nelson Cruz with this, "But they have got to do better than giving up 27 runs in three games." See how he did that, brings the Sox pitching failures in on the Cruz topic, and he starts off with his "Wish the White Sox the best and ends it with insulting the White Sox. Total lying A-hole move. Does anybody remember his "appropriate" comment from two or three years ago? So, he and Tony were doing "What's the Word", where they have to come up with a word to describe the topic they're discussing. It was two or three years ago (maybe four?), and the White were off to a historically bad start. And the question was raised that if the White Sox continued to play and lose that often, that they would have the worst record in White Sox baseball history. So Tony and Wilbon had to come up with one word to comment on or describe the idea that the White Sox that year could be the worst White Sox team ever. I don't remember what Tony said, but Wilbon said it would be "appropriate". That was his word. It was a while ago, so I don't remember the conversation too well, but he justified it (if I remember it correctly) because the White Sox fans are so full of themselves and their team, so for the Sox to be the worst would be "appropriate" for their fans to experience. That's when I first started hating him and I haven't changed one iota since.

Sox Summer Camp Catch All Thread
So, are inter-squad games going to become a daily or near-daily occurrence? I would guess, yes, because the pitchers need to go against real batters to improve and assess what works and doesn't work. And for the every day players, they quickly need to see real major league pitching. So pretty much every day? What do you think? Also, so Ricky can see who's where for creating a rotation. I want to see Rodon and if he is worthy of being in the rotation.

So what? It's still awful.

Top 3 Things You’re Looking Forward To

Will There Be a 2020 Season?
I just watched Pardon the Interruption on ESPN. Big discussion about NBA returning in late July. Another one about the NFL returning in September. But nothing about baseball. NOTHING. If football and basketball find a way to come back but baseball does not because of owners/ players greed, I will be so, so, so bitterly disappointed. I'll be like the guy above who says he might not return to baseball if they don't play this year and strike next year. It won't take a strike next year for me to give up on MLB. If I see NBA basketball in July and football in September and no baseball season, I don't know if I could return to MLB baseball after that. I'll just support our local semipro team the Aviators.

Your Walk Up Song
I want the opening theme song from "Jonny Quest". And when they play it as I walk up, I want the snarls from the panther and the Dragons of Ashida, all the gun fire, and most importantly, the screech from Turu the Terrible. Absolutely awesome.

Will There Be a 2020 Season?
Let me ask a question. Let's say that they do the Arizona thing with the players quarantined. But I saw a couple articles where Mike Trout and Zack Wheeler both said they want no part of that, both mentioned that they wouldn't be away from their families for that long and both had babies on the way. Now both of those players will make over 20 million this year. I would like to have MLB tell them, "Fine, don't play, don't quarantine, stay home, but you don't get paid. I would like it to be that simple. Other people, lots of lots of people have jobs where they have to be away from home for long stretches of time, missing family event like child births, and they are not making 2 million dollars a month or so. So what I am voting for is that MLB do this league and make it work, and those players who don't want to play don't have to play, but they don't get paid. It took me a long time here, but here's my question: Let's say they have this Arizona/Quarantined league, but some of the Sox player decline to play, Would you still watch it? Would you still be excited? But it's still an MLB season with trying to get into the playoffs and the World Series. Let's say that half the Sox roster chooses not to play (just assume a random 13 players of our 26 players choose not to play). Would you still tune in to those games and be excited to watch? I would 100%. I cheer for the White Sox, not the players. I love the players we have, but I am a White Sox fan, not a fan of a bunch of individual players. I say put together a team and get them out there playing another MLB team (assuming they will be missing a bunch of their holdout players also) and I am totally there. I'm watching every game. I'm getting excited and nervous and cheering and cussing the umps. I would be totally for this. I'm not saying this is ideal or as good as what we all expected, but put a White Sox team out there, LIVE, playing for the playoffs, even if half or most of it is made up of minor league players, and I am 100% behind that White Sox team.

Bilasport did it. Thanks !!!

Sox @ Reds: Spring Training Opener (Cease)
How are you hearing it? Every station, link I try redirects me to iheart Fox Sports talk? What am I doing wrong?

Sox @ Reds: Spring Training Opener (Cease)
Let's be honest here. Pretty much what all of us are doing is hanging around and waiting to see what happens when Robert bats again.

Sox @ Reds: Spring Training Opener (Cease)
I'm following on MLB.com game tracker, so not too confident on exactly what's happening. But it seems like our pitchers have hit and taken out two Cincy batter, including Matt Davidson. I don't think the Reds are liking us too much right now. Could anyone get this on the radio? I tried on the Cincy station, but all I get is general sports talk.

KW says "no Puig"
One could also make a valid argument that Puig could do much more damage to our club than our current right fielder could ever do, even if that current right fielder fell apart completely. One could also make a valid argument that our current right fielder has a much greater upside without any of the potentials downsides.

KW says "no Puig"
What happens when Puig takes Viagra? He stands up straighter and gets taller. The guy is total dick. We do not want this cancer in our clubhouse. Have you read the stuff his Dodger teammates say about him? The guy is not swag, he's a cancer. And let's say we sign him for just one year? What then becomes his agenda? Is it winning? No, that become secondary, at best, to his getting himself on Sports Center, building his value, and signing a big multi-year contract after next year. And for a guy with a well-documented history of selfishness, we do not want this in our clubhouse.

2020 Hall of Fame Voting
The thing about Schilling is this. Racism is not a political opinion. Sending out memes and tropes that disenfranchises and advocate violence against the media, muslims, and the LGBTQ community is not a political opinion. Doing that sort of behavior is morally wrong and against what freedom in America stands for. Yes, Schilling has the right to express his opinion, but racism and attacking various minorities is wrong, morally wrong. And there is a morals clause to getting into the Hall of Fame. Schilling should never get in.

I don't see how pitch framing works?
One of the major points people on here keep talking about concerning Grandal is how great he is at pitch framing. About how he can turn balls into strikes and really help his pitchers. For a couple reasons, I really have a hard time believing that pitch framing can really work that often or really be important. I just finished watching a video on youtube with Tyler Flowers and some coach and I get it a little better. But the coach made that claim in the video that a good framer, can take a pitch four inches outside the zone and get it called a strike. I find that really hard to believe. I'm not saying it's impossible, but I need some things explained to me. First of all, it seems like for framing to work, the home plate umpire would have to be extremely naive. How is it realistic for the umpire, who has umpired probably a 1,000 games before getting to the majors not to be aware of that catcher's glove movement, the umpire not to see this movement and know what the catcher is doing and ignore it. I don't see how this can possibly work with an experienced umpire. Now, when I watch the game on TV, I'm not seeing the pitch form behind the plate, but from the center field camera. But when I watch the games at home from that camera, it is so obvious that the catcher is jerking the ball back over the plate; it is so obvious. I can't believe an umpire could be fooled by that movement and call a strike. Also, my second reason, I umpired some for little league when I was in high school. When I was behind the plate, I concentrated on the ball moving right over the plate, looking to see if the white of the ball caught any of the white of the plate. I had no idea what the catcher was doing as he caught the ball. I wouldn't be aware that the catcher missed the ball unless he suddenly jumped up to find it or go get it. All I saw was the ball as it came in from the pitcher and crossed the plate. I'm not saying there's no way framing can't help, but I am dubious that framing can really make much of a difference and I certainly don't think that framing can change a ball several inches off the plate into a strike.

Sox still looking at Puig?
I agree with this guy 1000%. We don't need him; selfish players are a cancer in the clubhouse.

Puig is a selfish dick. Don’t get him; you don’t want a cancer in the clubhouse.

What is cash considerations ?
When the Cubs got Nick Castellanos from the Tigers, it was for two minor league pitchers and "Cash considerations". In the last two years, it seem the Cubs have traded for a lot of guys and given up "cash considerations". Are the Cubs giving cash? Are they getting cash? What does that mean? Is this just another way the Cubs are buying players? And if so, is it considered as part of their (already ridiculously high) payroll?

Yolmer contemplates not being on the Sox
More than Mendick has ever done in the minors, especially defensively. I agree with others, if he'll take 3 million a year, I'd keep him.

I don't think we can dump all this in Renteria's lap
I know that I have posted on here that I want to replace Renteria. But I really don't think, especially lately, that he has been given a chance to win. I believe that a lot of his player/ personal moves are being dictated to him by the front office. My best examples are pitching Covey and Herrera. This goes beyond this shit roster; I think many of his decision (like starting Covey or putting out Herrera) were forced upon him. Seriously, who would want to see Covey or Herrera pitch from any dugout which is trying to win? I have to believe there are many inaudible (and a few audible ones) whenever either of those two take the mound. And Renteria's might be silent, but I would bet it's there. Do you really think he wanted to keep putting Yonder A. out there and batting him at cleanup? I can't believe it. I think Hahn would tell Ricky to bat Yonder and bat him at cleanup to justify the stupid signing. Someone posted on the game thread today about Moncada being pissed after today's game. I'm sure that he and a lot of the other players know that these personal decisions are not in the hands of the people in the dug out and that losses like today are being shoved up their asses by the front office.

White Sox final win total
I don't usually do this, but I agree, somewhat with Parkman. I don't think they will shut any pitchers down because of innings, but this team has shut down. All that shit about Ricky's Boys never quit. That is such bullshit. They quit all the time; and Ricky leads the way. This team has quit. Just mailing it. Tim trying to win batting title, and Abreu trying to win RBI title, but no one gives a shit about winning anymore. That especially includes the front office and the coaches/manager. Every time you see Covey starting, or Herrera or Fry come in, that is manager/coaches and front office quite obviously telling the fans and players that they don't give a shit about winning any longer. No Madrigal or Robert, the same thing. The players are aware of it, so they've all now quit on the season. I predict 71 wins, wouldn't be surprised if we don't reach 70, this after being only two games under .500 at all-star break.

The Free Agent I want to sign more than any other
So, are you the one that changed the title? That just put my name in it in the 3rd person without my consent? I did do the title without Girardi's name in an attempt to make people wonder and read the thread. To a degree, it was clickbait. But it was clearly stated as from Vilehoopster. To create a book title or newspaper or thread title that creates interest and makes people want to read it, that's called good writing. To be a forum administrator and change someone's words without their consent, that's called unethical.

Why Did Covey Start Tonight??
I've been befuddled by so many of your posts that I've wondered on this forum and even one time asked you if you want the White Sox to lose. I guess this answers all my questions about you as a poster: "It's better that they lose games. I'd start Detwiler/Santiago the rest of the season instead of Nova to be honest. Lose more games." Well, I guess I have one question. What team do you actually like and cheer for? Is it the Twins? KC? Please, not the Yankees or the Cubs?

The Free Agent I want to sign more than any other
Can anyone offer any insight or explain how or why the title of this thread was changed without my consent? Has this happened to anyone else on this board? Have you ever submitted a comment or thread and had your words altered and changed without you knowing about it until you read it the next day? Does the administrators have to be the one doing it? Why would they do it?
