Pitched well in the playoffs, though. What do I know? I wanted Lieber.

Renteria to BoSox 4 years, $40m
Ugh. That old gag again. Money = Respect, Money = Affection, etc etc until I puke.

It comes down to this
I like the fact that Lowe is a ground-ball pitcher - that'd come in handy at USCF. Don't know if Perez is or not.

I guess it was time for Carlos to move on
Good point. Cowley is a writer, Moron is a s***-stirrer. I was just kinda speculating on the anti-KotexBoy fervor we Sox fans have.

What # Will Podsednik be?
I think that 11 would look good on Pod. While we're on this, what number do you think Dye will wear? He was #24 in Oakland, but that's Crediocre's number. I say 29 for Dye, if it's available.

I guess it was time for Carlos to move on
Hmmm....wonder what our collective reply to this article would have been had it been written by Moronotti? I hate when this kind of story is written after a guy is gone.

Longoria in Maxim
I LOVE the way those captions work the readers! HA! "I'd never do a porn movie, but I'm not saying I'd never do nudity!" "It's so sexy when a man rattles off statistics!" Gimme a f***in' break!

Constantine
For me, Keanu Reeves = avoid at all costs. One of my least favorite actors of all time.

Older Soxfest Threads
It's a WONDERFUL experience, where die-hard Sox fans gather, dress as their favorite Sox personalities from years past, such as Stan Bahnsen, Terry Bevington or John Allyn, exchange secret handshakes, distribute their "Ozzie-to-English" dictionaries, play trivia games about all-time Sox greats like Scott Fletcher, Ed Herrmann and Lyle Mouton, berate current Sox management at the Q&A sessions, and drink away the subsequent depression. ...ENJOY...

WGN 1/2 Price Bulls Promo?
I don't know. Try the WGN TV website, maybe?

Funny line about SamME
No, it's about the Cubs talking to Washington, Baltimore and Kansas City about taking the cancer off their hands.
-
Funny line about SamME
Teaser about baseball hot stove talk, I think it was Steve Levy who said: "Also coming up, BIG rumors regarding Sammy Sosa...and NO, they're not steroid-related...."

Is there a safe way to...
that would make a good first impression.... I always kinda forget that a lot of people here are from outta town - I guess that's cuz the Chicago media tells us constantly that we don't even have any fans HERE.

Anyone listen to any Online Radio Stations?
I used to listen to this one called "Sox N Roll"....something like that....it's been so long now since that station was active.....

Is there a safe way to...
Well, technically Michigan Avenue now, since they moved the rink to MoneyPit Park, but that's actually a VERY good suggestion. Skating outdoors in that setting is very romantic ( so my wife tells me, haha ), and if she starts to fall you just hang on tight ( can't be bad ). Get some cider or hot choco and walk around that mega-million dollar waste of taxpayer money.

Best Music of 2004
I'll go by songs rather than full CDs: Rise Against - Life Less Frightening The Wildhearts - Vanilla Radio Bad Religion - Los Angeles Is Burning The Darkness - Growing On Me The Killers - Mr. Brightside The Dog And Everything - Moment Megadeth - Blackmail The Universe Empyrean - Back On The Bus Brides Of Destruction - Shut The f*** Up a couple of these may have been released in 2003, but I identify them as 2004 songs, so they're on the list. So there!

Metro Security
Weirdest part is, Metro is one of the more careful clubs about security. I've ALWAYS been patted down on the way in before, and this is for the past 20+ years - I saw my first show there in 1983. They always have guys go to one side and ladies to the other and do a purse check, patdown, all that. The timing of my first "clean walk-by" was just really surprising.

Sexson to the Mariners
I submit to you the Chicago Bulls. ....through thick and thin.... I've been going to games when the Sox won division titles and when they won 70 games, as have others. I'd keep going to games, no doubt.

Metro Security
So I went to see Butch Walker last night at Metro - great show, by the way, Butch rocks and is a great showman - but something happened to put me a little ill at ease. Or should I say, something DIDN'T happen. Not ONE person was checked out at all on the way in! No purse check for the girls, no patdown, no NOTHING. VERY off-putting, given the recent Dimebag Darrell murder on stage. I realize that the vast majority of the audience was comprised of 14-to-20 year old girls, but to not check anyone was kind of negligent, IMO. There were no incidents at all, and I'm sure security will be more stringent when I go to see Rise Against in February, but still.......

Sexson to the Mariners
This brings up, once again, the BIG question: Would you be okay with the White Sox absolutely SUCKING for years in trade for a World Series championship? ....I would....
