  1. QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 09:18 AM) I'd appreciate if you revised your comments here. I'm sure you meant to say "many casual Sox fans are fairweather"... oops...too late, I already called him out
  2. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 09:11 AM) I wasn't there, nobody was there. Sox fans are fairweather fans, he is actually helping me prove my point. I have my list of excuses just like any of the other 25,000 blue seats that were there last night. I almost go to as many games as I financially and logistically can go to. I work full time, am currently taking review classes for the CPA exam, and have a slew of other activities that take up my time. To bulk all of the sox fandom as fair-weather is stupid. In all honesty there just isn't enough of us around to physically fill the seats. Season tickets have to increase (corporate seats especially) in order to consistently fill that park. If the white sox want to not have these problems they have to sell their seats at the corporate level which apparently they are NOT doing a good job of doing right now.
  3. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 09:01 AM) Exactly. How did that answer his question?
  4. Really, really nice!!! I love the colors, shape, the whole thing is awesome!
  5. http://www.comcast.net/news/index.jsp?cat=.../07/216379.html Officials to hand out a $2,000 debit card to each refugee (yes I know I'm being racist :rolly ) for food, gas, etc.
  6. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 01:58 PM) They had better cut the price of the Shuffles quite a bit, if they're even keeping them around. Also, I'm sure all the third party vendors that made mini- accessories are pissed that they have to go back to the drawing board. I think I like the nanos, but unless i can convince work I need one I don't see one in my future. If you can figure out how to get your work to pay for a Ipod, I need to know EXACTLY what you said to get that one to fly...
  7. How many times can one person consectitively post in his own thread??
  8. QUOTE(SnB @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 01:44 PM) that video on the website is pretty cool. man, how cool is this game going to be? Meh...too aluminum-ey Probably a fun game...especially if the recruiting is realistic.
  9. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 01:23 PM) I like my Mini. It's the right size. Thats what I have right now myself. The mini fits fine in my pocket...Its just ridiculous how small they are making this one.
  10. Ipod-Nano Its 1/3 the size of the old mini...pretty cool
  11. QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 11:58 AM) I use the "f" word at WSI, and here, and I've never been banned there. I've also been negative, critical, and even at times I attack Henry - although he deserves it Yet I somehow manage to do all that within their "rules". It's not that hard, really. I don't think thats a very fair comparison... I'm pretty sure If I join WSI right now and use foul language I would be banned immediately. Personal relationships and 1,000's of posts have given you the right to speak your mind.
  12. I'm kinda hoping for a slightly larger crowd today. Something has to be done about the Royals, we only drew 14,600 yesterday? If I would've known the crowd was going to be that small, I definitely would have gone to the game. Lets get another win tonight!!!
  13. He has been in custody since December 2003... Wow, that really puts into context just how long this war has been going on. :headshake And is there any end in sight?

    Allergies

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 12:57 AM) Yesterday i sneezed about 50 times, so something's up. Whenever i get back to Champaign after a hiatus, my allergies flare up. I go through about a box of claritin d or benadryl a month in the fall and spring. The worst is when during class my nose just starts running, and i have to use my sleeve to stop it. It's not pretty. Man bring some tissues...your sleeve? What are you in second grade? I always get allergies in the spring, but luckily nothing in the fall. If I had allergies right now I'm pretty sure I would just quit my job, move to Saskachawan (sp?) and live with an overweight middle aged woman. Don't ask....
  15. QUOTE(knightni @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 01:38 PM) Honestly, McClendon was overdue. That team has talent now and had talent before when he got the team. The least they could have done is compete with the Cubs, Reds and Brewers. I couldn't disagree more...They're offense is anemic, at best. Jason Bay and 8 stiffs is not gonna equate out to a lot of victories.
  16. Heres a suggestion: How about putting this thread in the Sex, Lies & Politics section rather than Pale Hose talk. This is barely baseball related, and with the pictures , fits that media a lot better than its current location... Just my two cents Congrats Scott
  17. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 09:05 AM) I have a feeling this division is going to go down to the wire... I would sure as hell rather see our guys get rest during the Royals series then the Angels series... Say What???
  18. I'm trying to forget El Duque's last outing against Texas....think happy thoughts, think happy thoughts.
  19. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 09:03 AM) Frank deserves to be able to walk the rest of his life with as little pain as possible. Wait a minute...you're trying to say there are more important things than a sporting event? Frank has to do what is best for him and his family. He has had a great career and there is no reason for him to suffer through a few more seasons if his foot cannot heal completely.
  20. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 08:42 AM) Again, this smacks of being an apologist for the owners not doing enough. Why do we need to justify this s***? Why is this acceptable? Why are you freaking out? Why now instead of during the offseason? Your rant stinks of being an irrational fan who instead of focusing on what is going on in the field your stuck in the front office.
  21. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 08:53 AM) so, where do the Cubs factor into this? Besides accepting a deal to trade their starting second baseman? I'm not sure I'm following your question. As for Walker, I would love to have him. I coveted him when he was a free agent two years ago. A lefty bat like his would be extremely useful both now and in the playoffs.
  22. MinorLeagueBaseball-Barons Box Pretty sure the Barons weren't off today... Chris Young keeps on, keeping on. MinorLeagueBaseball-Intimidators Box Getz with two hits tonight, in a losing effort Kanny also played
  23. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 11:16 AM) Just bought the new Kanye. Lovin' it. Tell me you have the Common CD as well...absolutely spectacular album.
  24. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 11:49 AM) Neither Owens or Young are on the 40 man roster. We have one spot open right now and it will not be filled by a AA OF. If we need an OF it will be Brian Anderson who is already on the 40 man and much further along in his development. Now is not the time to be throwing AA rookies out there and see if they can do something. The Braves lost both of their corner OFers this year so they had to revert to their minors and struck gold in Franceour and Kelly Johnson. The White Sox situation is much less dyer, you won't be seeing any of these guys. Or much more Dyer...depending how you look at it....
  25. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 08:40 AM) All their games are meaningless. They're out of it, and they know it. Soriano kinda plays like they are always out of it...That guy can hit, no doubt, but I would never want him on my team.
